Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

No. 2 Corona Del Sol runs away early against No. 4 Basha. 
Both teams with high power offenses. 2020 CF Cade Verdusco, GCU commit, hit three doubles in the game scoring 3 runs with an RBI for CDS. 2020 SS Hunter Haas, Arizona State commit also had two hits with a double, run and two RBIs. Basha did their best to creep back into the game late. 2020 SS Bitner Worman, BYU commit & 2020 3B Ryland Zaborowski, GCU commit both hit big HRs in the game. 

No. 16 Brophy upsets No. 7 Mountain Ridge. 2020 SS Kyrian Wallace led the way for the Broncos, going 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.

On the rise, Queen Creek edges No. 9 Chaparral. Mikel Ramirez went the complete game on the mound for QC allowing one run on 4 hits without recording a walk or strikeout. Queen Creek scored its two runs in the 2nd inning on a 2-run single by 1B Anthony Imhoff. 2021 SS Braydon Rogers, CSU-Fullerton commit also had two hits and a run in the game. 

No. 3 Mountain Pointe bounces back against No. 17 Perry. 2021 LHP Justin Still (Perry), New Mexico commit did his best to shutdown Mountain Pointe. Still had 12 strikeouts in 5 innings of work, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks. 2020 SS Carson Tucker led the Mountain Pointe offense with 3 hits, two being HRs on the day with 2 runs and 5 RBIs. 

2020 C Thomas Napolitano, CSU-San Bernardino commit has 6 hits combined in back to back wins for Desert Mountain. Napolitano is 6 for 6 with three HRs, a double & two walks while scoring 4 runs with 5 RBIs in the two game span.

Millennium walks off Higley on four run 7th. 2021 Caleb Smith hits a walk off 3-run HR in the bottom of the 7th to beat Highley 11-8. Smith was 3 for 4 with the walk-off and a double in the game with 2 runs & 4 RBIs. 2020 RF Matthew Obst also had four hits in the game for Millennium. 2021 1B Connor Hill was 2 for 3 with three runs scored.
