Uncommitted Spotlight: Dominic Chacon

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at 2022 OF Dominic Chacon (Horizon).

2022 OF Dominic Chacon (Horizon)- Chacon attended the PBR Future Games back at the beginning of August where he had a solid performance across the board. When looking at left-handed hitting outfielders in Arizona, you're not going to find many more in the 2022 class with more upside than Chacon. If it wasn't for another teammate at the Future Games that was putting up some big power displays, we think Chacon would have stood out even more at LHH prospect. At 6-foot-3 190-pound build, Chacon's body shows projectability with long limbs and athletic actions. There is also plenty of room to add strength in the frame. We recently had a chance to watch Chacon at the Junior Fall Classic where he showed some of his strength driving a ball over the RCF fence. In the past, he has shown a smooth left-handed swing with line drive approach, hitting from a an athletic spread out base. At the future games, he proved to have fast hands with above average bat speed. Defensively, he doesn't show blazing speed as far as the 60-yard dash goes but his long legs and wingspan makes up for some of range combined with quick confident jumps. He cut off a couple balls in the gaps in Georgia this summer. Chacon should be climbing up some boards in the near future.
