Upperclass All-State Games Preview: Demetrio Crisantes

Paul Panaccione
Arizona Scouting Director

On January 29th and 30th, PBR Arizona will be hosting it's annual All-State Games for all high school grad classes. This is an invite-only event held before the 2022 Spring Season gets underway. At the All-State Games, players will participate in a pro-style workout (running, hitting, fielding, throwing), while PBR staff is collecting data with Trackman, Blast Motion Sensors, and other state-of-the-art technologies. Player's profiles will be updated with their current metrics and video, as well as up to date scouting notes.

Not only does this event allow players the opportunity to update their profiles and expand their recruiting options, but it also gives us an idea of what to expect from individuals and teams across the state as we approach the 2022 High School Season. With the top players in the state in attendance, the All-State Games allow players to compete against their peers in a fun environment, and see where they stack up with one another.

December and January are months that players spend preparing for their upcoming season, and at the All-State Games, they have a chance to showcase their abilities one last time before focusing on winning a championship.

Today, we highlight a participant we're very excited about being in attendance, SS Demetrio Crisantes (Nogales, 2022).

Demetrio Crisantes SS / 2B / Nogales, AZ / 2022

6-foot 180 pounds, Demetrio Crisantes is the top ranked SS in the state, and #5 ranked overall in his class. The University of Arizona commit has been trending in the right direction continuously over the last two years. With constant progress and growth, Cristantes had made a name for himself as one of the best athletes in the state. He's a smooth swinging righty that hits for power and average, and will play a lock down shortstop. He has advanced actions in all parts of his game, and we can't wait to see him show his stuff at the All-State Games on January 30th.

(Notes from 9/10/21)

At 6-foot 175 pounds, Crisantes is already well put together, and has room to put on more size and physicality. His athleticism and strength plays a part in his skillset. Recently de-committed from New Mexico State University, and opened the recruitment process back up. It did not take long for the University of Arizona to claim the top SS in the state. It's no secret Crisantes can swing the bat. A complete hitter, Crisantes hits for some power, packaged with great plate discipline and bat control. His athleticism is recognizable when at SS. Great range at SS, ability to make the tough play in the hole or up the middle and has solid INF instincts. The Wildcats got an impact player from down south.
