On January 29th and 30th, PBR Arizona will be hosting it's annual All-State Games for all high school grad classes. This is an invite-only event held before the 2022 Spring Season gets underway. At the All-State Games, players will participate in a pro-style workout (running, hitting, fielding, throwing), while PBR staff is collecting data with Trackman, Blast Motion Sensors, and other state-of-the-art technologies. Player's profiles will be updated with their current metrics and video, as well as up to date scouting notes. 

Not only does this event allow players the opportunity to update their profiles and expand their recruiting options, but it also gives us an idea of what to expect from individuals and teams across the state as we approach the 2022 High School Season. With the top players in the state in attendance, the All-State Games allow players to compete against their peers in a fun environment, and see where they stack up with one another. 

December and January are months that players spend preparing for their upcoming season, and at the All-State Games, they have a chance to showcase their abilities one last time before focusing on winning a championship. 

Today, we highlight a participant we're very excited about being in attendance, C Luke Jones (2023, Campo Verde)

 

Luke Jones C / 3B / Campo Verde , AZ / 2023 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 2 With a skilled group of catchers signed up for this years Upperclass All-State Games, Luke Jones enters the new year as the highest ranked catcher in attendance. Coming off a great fall, Jones looks to keep that rolling into his junior season as a leader offensively and behind the dish for his squad over at Campo Verde. (Notes from Nov. 29, 2021 rankings update) Luke Jones has jumped a few spots in this rankings update to #21 overall, and sitting at #2 in his position. Jones is an uncommitted 6-foot 185 pound catcher coming out of Campo Verde with skills on both sides of the ball. His receiving at the catcher spot is above average, simple and strong. Sticks balls and keeps strikes as strikes, stealing some pitches on occasion. The catch and throw is also above average with some arm strength and accuracy. Through the fall, we started to see some power come into his bat, leaving the yard a few times in tournament play. He has a pull side approach as a hitter, and the power is mainly limited to the pull side as of now. Luke Jones is a great follow through the spring as an offensive catcher with some upside as more reps come.
