The 2025 Arizona High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout the state.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons by raising the 2025 AIA State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams throughout Arizona and will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Top 10 Rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Top 10 Rankings.

TEAM OVERVIEW

After a tough 2024 season, the Corona del Sol Aztecs are poised for a major turnaround in 2025, armed with a roster brimming with talent and determination. The headline addition is Brett Crossland, the top-ranked pitcher in Arizona’s 2025 class and a University of Texas commit. Crossland, who transferred from Mountain Pointe High School, brings a dominant presence on the mound with a fastball that touches 95 mph and an impressive array of offspeed pitches. He will anchor the Aztecs’ pitching staff and play a pivotal role in their quest for a state title. With his arrival, Corona del Sol now boasts 5 Division I commits, the most in the state, raising expectations for a championship run. The offense will be led by Jaiden Lo Re (BYU), a talented shortstop and dynamic hitter, who is poised to be a key catalyst in the Aztecs' lineup this season.

In addition to their experienced upperclassmen, the Aztecs also feature several high-level underclass prospects who add depth and promise to the roster. These younger players are expected to contribute significantly and help secure the team’s long-term success. Their deep pitching rotation, anchored by Crossland, will be a key weapon, while the offense boasts a blend of power, speed, and consistency. If they maintain consistency and capitalize on their immense talent, the Aztecs have all the pieces needed to emerge as contenders for the 6A State Championship in 2025.
