Scouting Report

Background: Pringle is currently the top ranked uncommitted arm in BC right now as the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Victoria Eagles right-hander ranks 5th in the 2020 class and should be a hot commodity for teams looking to round out their recruiting class of arms. Pringle works with feel for three pitches and we’ve seen the secondary stuff continue to polish over the course of 2019. The fastball works in the upper 80’s and can flash 90 on occasion, while the breaking has improved and been a pitch Pringle can rely on to throw for strikes, with more of a slider sweeping action in the 75-77 range. There is feel for a changeup and can be considered as a potential starter or a back end arm out of the bullpen, depending on where he ends up at school. The delivery is quite simple, he repeats with a short arm action in the back, and when he creates angles on his pitches, Pringle is at his best.

Outlook: Pringle has been one of the more dominant arms in the province over the past two years and was rewarded with multiple trips with the Junior National Team. The body has room to cleanup and gain some strength, but physically it's close to what it will end up and look like. He’s been a trust-worthy starter for his club team and Team BC at the Canada Cup, and with him currently being uncommitted, he’s a steal for schools looking to add to their recruiting class. Three pitch guy who if he can harness his fastball and fill up the zone, will be just fine when he gets on the right campus in fall 2020.
