OUTLOOK: 

With a team that has 5 returning starters and 4 returning pitchers, expectations for the Golden Eagles are high entering 2020. When those returning pitchers also happen to be staying local as Fresno State commits, Clovis West knows they’ve got a chance for this to be a special season. Their defense has lock-downs behind the plate and on the left side of the infield to help that pitching staff this season; that’s saying something after losing 2019 SS Karson Simas (Red Sox). Offensively the Golden Eagles will be a challenge for the TRAC pitchers with those 5 returners and young players ready to make the leap. Consistency will be the key point this season and determine how far this team can go; with the talent that they have a deep playoff run shouldn’t be overlooked. 

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS:

‘20 LHP Ixan Henderson - Fresno State Commit.

Will mix with Galvan to be a top of the line 1-2 punch in the TRAC. Three pitch mix keeps hitters off balance and projects well for D1 level.

‘20 RHP Noah Galvan - Fresno State Commit. 

Other half of their loaded frontline starting 1-2, Galvan showed well over the summer with arm strength and space in the frame to keep adding to already solid velocity. 

‘20 C Hayden Driggs - St. Mary’s Commit.

Defensive stalwart behind the plate will prevent runners from advancing with Catch/Throw skills. Bat is heavy and can create damage.

‘20 SS/3B Bradley Senneway

Started at 3B in 2019 and will move over to SS for 2020 to lock down the position. Tools continue to improve and should be a focus for College looking for a SS.

‘20 RHP Erick Budd

6-0 for Clovis West in his Varsity career and will look to be a key piece either starting or out of the bullpen for Golden Eagles. 

‘20 RHP Art Navarette

Closer type stuff during 2019 with 5 saves and 2 wins. Has continued to grow as a pitcher and will be counted on.  

‘21 RHP Chase Barsotti

‘21 RHP Jacob Floth

‘21 INF Sarkis Nersesian

‘21 C/1B Wyatt Gibson

THE FUTURE:

‘22 INF Nathan Baeza

Talented MIF who will lock down 3B for Golden Eagles in 2020. Made Varsity as a Freshman

‘22 INF Jacob Haros 

Another 2-year varsity player who will lock down 2B for Golden Eagles in 2020. 

‘23 INF/OF Cayden Munster

Impressive incoming Freshman who should start on Varsity. Swing shows big-time strength and future power.
