Team Expectations

They expect to ride the success they had last year into this season.  Before the lost to Ridgeview, the Lions had won 20 games in a row.  It was an amazing season and they look to only build upon that this year. This will be the Lions last year in the North Sequoia League where they have won 11 straight championships.  The Lions look to finish their historic run in the league with one more championship.

Team Strengths

Pitching, Pitching, Pitching! The Lions return their whole pitching staff this year.  Last year the Lions posted a team record low ERA of 0.94.  The Lions are led by 4 year starter and Saint Mary's commit Devon Daniel.

Areas of Improvement

The Lions look to fill some senior roles last year.  Fortunately the Lions are deep in many positions and they feel like they can do this with pretty solid confidence.

College Commitments

Devon Daniel- Saint Mary's

Dominic Puentes- Saint Mary's

Top 22s

- Devon Daniel P/OF/1B/, 2022, Devon is the returning MVP of our league and team. His Perfect Game last year was the first in our schools history!  Look for Devon to have a monster year!

- Jayden Gonzalez P/OF, 2022, Jayden was our Pitcher of the League last year and finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record!  Jayden looks to build off of the 2021 campaign.

- Giovanni Groppetti P/1B/2022, Gio comes in looking to show what he has worked for. This kid is an animal and has built himself into an instant contributor!

Top 23s

- Dominic Puentes/SS/2023, Dominic comes in this year as the premier shortstop in our league, and one of the best in the section.  His defense is smooth and his bat is loud. Dominic looks to have a career year!

Top 24s

- Gilbert Acosta C/INF/2024, Gilbert is a big and strong left handed hitting catcher.  With improvements to his swing and continued work behind the plate, expect big things from this kid. He caught almost every game for the Lions last year and he looks to show that experience this year.

- Adam Delgado P/INF/2024, Adam had a fantastic freshman year for the Lions going 6-1 on the mound.  Adam is a fantastic infielder, and has surprising pop at the plate.  We look forward to Adam continuing his success on the mound and the field!

- Kevin Chavez P/INF/OF, Kevin comes in not playing much last year, but is looking to be a contributing factor this year.  Kevin may not be a big kid, but he plays twice his size.  His instincts on the bases are the best on the team and he looks to be an instant impact for this team.
