VENTURA, CALIF. - As the entirety of the of the California High School sections are underway with regular season games Prep Baseball California will be highlighting weekly games of the week with some of the best matchups from all over the Golden State.

Game Preview:  

The Cavaliers come into the Del Rey League showdown with their strong senior class off to electric starts. The trio of Hughes, Emmerman, Pryor are all currently hitting .600 or better on the spring while Hackett, Varela and Elliott are all off to .400 or better starts. As a team the Cavaliers have scored a total of 52 runs over their seven while allowing just 14 total runs coming into this game. For the Lancers the offense features a total of six players who are off to starts of over .300 with their average while the duo of Ramirez and Castro are each above .400. On the mound Muniz and Peinado are off to outstanding starts with Peinado posting a .48 ERA already through nearly 15 innings of work. Bishop Amat sits at 3-0 in the Del Rey Leagu and in first place as the Cavaliers of Serra enter at 1-1 in third place looking to keep pace with the hot start of the Lancers.

Game Preview:  

The Sun Devils enter this Mojave River League showdown off to an electric start sitting at 8-2 on 3/10/2025 with two games ahead of this matchup. The trio SR. power bats in Reveron, Lloyd, Robertson are all hitting over .300 with Lloyd sitting over .500 while Reveron is over .400 and the trio has combined for seven homers, 11 doubles, with 35 RBIs between them. Lloyd has been a stalwart on the mound along with Yazzie. In 10 games the Sun Devils have plated 87 runs total while holding opponets to just 35 runs. For Oak Hills so far the JR. duo of Webster and Marcil have been key components of their success both within the lineup and on the mound. Webster is hitting at over a .300 clip early in the spring with Marcil checking in at .471 leading the Bulldogs. while both have posted ERA's under 3.00 and Marcil's leads the team at .88 so far. The Bulldogs have been successful in close games with three of their wins coming by two runs or less.

Game Preview:  

The Mustangs are off to a stellar start as a team sitting at 3-1 early in the season and the two-way talent Elchlepp has been a force on each side of the game. At the plate Elchlepp is currently hitting a torrid .545 with two doubles, one HR, three RBIs and four runs scored. As good as he has been at the plate he has potentially been better on the mound posting a .54 ERA over 13 innings with 13 Ks and allowed just three hits with two walks. Stockdale as a team has plated 26 totals runs while allowing only six runs to their opponents. The Broncos are off to an undefeated start entering this Central Baseball Classic Tournament matchup with a heavy SR. class full of talent and one of the top Soph. products in the state of California the Broncos will be a formidable matchup. On the year Clovis North has scored 34 runs in their four wins while allowing just 12 runs with a shutout and a one run performance on their resume.

Game Preview:  

The Nighthawks picked up a big upset win knocking off the talented Cathedral Catholic program on opening day and now square off against another talented squad in Eastlake. SR. two-way Grey Gusich has been stellar on the mound so far with seven innings of work while punching out eight hitters. In just two games played so far Soph. Sun and SR. O'Day are off to strong starts posting averages above .400/.500 respectively over two games. The Nighthawks are even at eight runs scored in two games while allowing eight runs on the mound. The Titans boast one of the top players in the '25 class in the state of California with Angel Laya who in seven plate appearances on the year is 2-2 with five walks while his SR. D1 commit Jaurequi has doubled and drove in a run. Hatahet is sitting at .500 over two games with one triple and four runs batted in. Romero and Gomez are leading the pitching staff with 4.1 innings and 4 innings respectively while Romero struck out four with Gomez punching out six. Eastlake has plated 14 runs as a team while allowing just three.
