BOTTOM LINE

The upperclassmen will be vital to the success of the Lions in 2025. They were solid on both sides of the game last year, but especially will need to pitch well in big matchups to give themselves a chance to make a return to the playoffs.

PREP BASEBALL CA STAFF’S TAKE

With some key pieces returning off a CIF-SS D8 semifinals team that fell to the eventual champions Azusa the Lions have a stable core of players who are used to winning with the SR. class having experienced 3 winning seasons in a row and back to back playoff apperances. Versatility of the top players to contribute on the mound and in the lineup has been a staple of the Lions. With Tafolla who has been a key player for the Lions on both the offensive/pitching side of the game returning for his 3rd year on varsity his performance is going to be another key to their success. How well they can pitch the baseball and produce on the offensive side especially in games against top competition will be key to see if they can take the next step after a 2023 CIF-SS playoff appearance and then the 2024 CIF-SS semifinals run. - Steven Hardesty Assistant Scouting Director
