BOTTOM LINE

The rotation will have to replace one of the prominent starters with Warner moving on to graduation, but Sekany served as the second most durable piece of their rotation and should front it this spring. With key pieces like Ravera and Robinson back the trio brings experience to the mound for the Matadors as they look to repeat their outstanding 2024 season. On the offensive side of the game 3 of their top bats from 2024 return in Boyd M., Brown and Kardy, plus experienced players from last year looking to take more prominent roles in 2025 the Matadors will have top end talent with depth across their lineup. Repeating an electric season from 2024 will be difficult, but the roster that Granada boasts in 2025 will give them a chance to be very good again if all their pieces play to their potential.

PREP BASEBALL CA STAFF’S TAKE

You would think after going 32-1 last year Granada would be losing a lot of its team, that's not the case this year. They bring back tons of talent even though they lost their ace of the staff Parker Warner. I think having 5 pitchers back as well as 9 position players will definitely play a part in their success. Jake Sekany (USC) will hold it down on the mound for his senior year. I'm really impressed with infielder Mikey Boyd (Fresno State), has a sweet lefty swing and he's turned into a solid 3B over the years. Another guy who flies is Tyler Kardy (St’ Mary’s) who can really put up some good at bat’s, and plays like a scrapper. Joining him in the OF will be the lengthy OF Peyton Richards (UOP), who’s got a lot of upside. Tommy Brown (ASU) will be handling the Catching duties this season and is set to have a huge year. Other talented players like Logan Robinson, Griffon Sutton (CSUEB), Carlos Hernandez (George Fox), & Joey Marasco (Geroge Fox), will all help contribute to a stacked team this year. Granada will be traveling to North Carolina this year to compete in the NHSI, that will be a huge test for this loaded Matadors squad.
