The 2025 California high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across California.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective CIF Section Championship Game, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across California. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings.

We have a talented roster from the senior class all the way down to a very good incoming freshmen class. From behind the plate to the infield dirt and into the outfield we are very good defensive team with multiple players who can defend at very high levels, plus interchangeable players for our lineup who can all defend and allow us to be deep as a offensive piece. The athleticism we possess as a team is a big strength that will help us to be dynamic on both defense and offense. - Coach Farrell

PREP BASEBALL CA STAFF’S TAKE

"New beginnings are always made easier when there's a level a familiarity, for Orange Lutheran that familiarity is more than faint as longtime assistant RJ Farrell takes over as head coach of the Lancers. Farrell steps into a great situation as Orange Lutheran is coming off a CIF-SS D1 semifinal run with a number of experienced players returning. It's all about pitching and defense and the Lancers have plenty of both. With three Division I level (two are committed, one is not) arms atop their rotation, along with some quality newcomers behind them, Orange Lutheran will go as far as their staff can take them. Their offense is both veteran laden and potent. They score runs in bunches or slow things down and scratch out a run. With quality underclassmen learning the ropes early, the Lancers should be at their best when they need it most, late in the season." - Les Lukach
