CHICO, CA - We made a trip up to California's Far North region last Saturday, our latest stop on the road to the California State Games. The event had a roster of nearly 40 players in attendance. As per usual, the players were put through a pro-style workout that included the 60-yard sprint, a round of batting practice, defensive workouts at respective positions, and concluded with bullpen sessions for pitchers.

Most of the players were attending their first ever PBR California event, giving us a first look at these players in a showcase setting. Some we had seen in previous game action and a couple we had seen in other PBR events, as well at the Area Code tryouts last summer.

We posted our Quick Hits on Thursday and today we look at the Stats Leaders from the event.

STAT LEADERS

Top 60-yd Times:

Handheld stopwatch timed 60 yard dash from a base-stealing start position

Top Exit Velocities:

Prior to live BP on the field, players worked off a tee with a radar gun reading the exit speeds

Top Positional Velocities - Infielders:

Infielders took ground balls at 3B, SS, 1B to show off their raw arm strength and glove skills

Top Positional Velocities - Outfielders:

Outfielders took ground balls in RF with throws to 3rd base to show raw arm strength and ball skills

Top Positional Velocities - Catchers:

Catchers showed off their footwork and catch/throw skills with 5 pop times to 2nd base
