Game Notes (CA): American Canyon vs Casa Grande

PETALUMA, CA - Due to the all the recent rain and conditions of both teams' home fields, American Canyon and Casa Grande played a conference game at St. Vincent de Paul HS in Petaluma, which has a turf multi-purpose facility. The dimensions of SV are very favorable for hitters (CF fence less than 300' away) and it played out that way in this game, which was a 13-6 American Canyon victory.

I showed up to see some specific players, ACHS 2021 outfielders Tyree Reed and Jordan Fisher (both uncommitted), along with a couple of committed Casa Grande players, 2019 SS Joe Lampe (UC Davis), and 2020 C Cole Santander (Cal commit). Each of those players did contribute for their teams but a couple of ACHS seniors, Cameron Peters (grand slam) and 2B/P Eric Thomas (3.1 IP in relief to earn the save; also 1-for-3 w/HR, 3 RBI, 3 SB, 3 R). That's a lot of 3's for Thomas' day!
