Game Notes: Harvard Westlake v Thousand Oaks

Les Lukach
State Scouting Director

THOUSAND OAKS, CA. - Harvard Westlake (#13 Preseason Power 25) went on the road to face a tough, upset minded Thousand Oaks team in an Easton Tournament game. Both teams should contend for their respective league titles in 2019 and look to make a run in the CIF-SS Playoffs. Harvard Westlake jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning providing righty Jack Limongelli enough cushion to get to work on throwing strikes. The Wolverines would add another in the fourth before a Max Muncy solo home run sparked a Thousand Oaks comeback that came up just short as Harvard Westlake would strand the tying run at second base in the bottom of the seventh to hold on for a 4-3 win.

Inside are scouting notes and video along with some game notes on 10 players - several of them uncommitted - from each of the next four classes. College program and you don't have a subscription? Now seems like a good time to get one.

Muncy was the eye opener on the day. The sophomore shortstop showed why he is such a highly thought of recruit and why some of nations biggest baseball programs are interested in his services. He moves well defensively and has plenty of arm. Oh, and he shows some pop at the plate. Full report and video inside.
