INSIDE THE 2023 RANKINGS: OUTFIELDERS

PBR CA Scouting Staff

Talent at the outfield position has been steady in recent years with the 2023 class producing a deep and toolsy class. Outfielders in the 2023 rankings are making noise with their bats with eleven of the top nineteen players committed to PAC-12, Big-West and WCC schools. Today we focus on the top ten outfielders in California, highlighted by the top three ranked outfielders potentially being the future outfield of UCLA baseball. We are excited to continue following the prep careers of the outfielders we have already seen, and look forward to seeing new players make jumps into future rankings.

UCLA committed outfielders lead the way with the top three 2023 outfielders set to join Bruin baseball. Owen Egan shined at the PBR Future Games with his toolsy package producing current success and projecting for more to come. Dean West speed and left-handed bat show pro potential and a nice fit at the top of a future UCLA lineup. Smooth swinging lefty Aidan Espinoza is another toolsy outfielder with arm strength that translates on the mound as well. Uncommitted outfielders in Munster, Rivera, Landry and Nitowitz round out the top ten and with big summers should see the blank commitment filled sooner rather than later. There is lots to like with the outfield class with many of these names sure to be linked to 2023 ProCase, Scout Ball and the Area Code Games.
