Outfielders:

2022 OF/1B Johann Brooks - Santa Cruz, 6-1, 150, R/R

Long and lean frame including long limbs and tight waist; space in frame to add strength and bulk. Long stride with controlled effort and full body runner using make up speed once underway (7.60 60yd). Wide, balance stance with even hands and high back elbow. Compact swing gets on plane early showing slight upwards path from tight turns flashing some growing bat speed. Line drives from gap-to-gap with flashes of carry and backspin to oppo gap. Used compact swing with steeper hand path during EV testing (82 EV) putting balls level into middle of field. Flashes of athleticism in OF with ability to move through the ball. Mid slot arm action with some run to bases keeping the ball on the bag (74 MPH). Raw player flashing some tools that can continue to progress.

2021 OF/2B Christian Ah Toong - Dublin, 5-9, 175, L/R

Strong, wide medium frame with high waist and longer legs; broad chest with upper half strength. Shows strong stride length with good foot speed (7.34 60yd). Narrow stance with front foot closed, high hands and high back elbow. Works behind the baseball flashing lift from some bat speed to the pull side. During EV testing showed the same ability to lift while hitting line-drives through the middle of the field (85 EV). Some athletic actions in OF with throws having high arc and compact action out of the glove (72 MPH). Arm action and strength would translate to right side of INF.

2022 OF/2B Brody Pearson - Bellarmine, 6-0, 155, R/R

Long and very lean frame that is compact with length in limbs; projects more strength as frame is very young. Quick, athletic runner with strong gait using legs well (7.13 60yd) and showing some twitchy flashes. Athleticism translates to OF where he moves well with solid first step. Arm is compact and balls were around bags with throws (72 MPH); arm actions translate to right side of the infield as well. Narrow stance with high hands as body gains ground on stride. Hands lift through contact with quick barrel loop into and through the zone. Flashed some barrel feel working pullside during EV round before lining balls to opposite side of feel in BP (79 EV). Athletic actions and solid fundamentals that can improve with overall strength.

2021 OF/1B Hunter Kelly - River City, 5-10, 195, R/L

Medium frame with growing strength in high-waisted build (8.03 60yd). Wide stance with high hands and high back elbow pulling knob down into shoulder on toe turn type load. Back elbow stays underneath the ball as he looks to drive the ball to the pullside of the field with lift. Strength in body allows him to get carry on the ball and have hands upwards path through contact. Stayed through the middle of the field in EV testing with linedrives to both gaps (88 EV). In OF fair fielding skills with loose arm from slingy mid slot with length out of the glove (72 MPH).

2021 OF/LHP Jack Harris - Las Lomas, 5-7, 145, L/L

Medium frame with width in chest and squared shoulders; length in legs with room to shape and add strength upon maturity (7.77 60yd). High, wide hands pull tight to body on toe turn timing. Hands work inside baseball with steeper path flattening through contact. Flashed bat control in EV testing and in BP with ability to pull the ball past defenders and to keep hands tight back spinning the ball into the oppo gap (74 EV). Flashed agility in OF using high hops to load himself prior to wider mid slot arm from OF; arm flashed best whip when using lower half more consistently (73 OF). On mound showed a wide 3/4 release with average arm swing using a high front side to add deception while keeping hands away from his body. Limited usage from lower half with movement down the hill early. FB 72-74 MPH through the top half of the zone on both sides of the plate flashing cut to the glove side. CB 63-64 MPH with short cut having small depth in 1/6 shape. CHG 67-68 MPH showing sink to the arm side and flashes of run that way.
