NorCal Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The CIF-Sac Joaquin section playoffs begin today and the Del Campo Cougars will be starting their journey to defend their 2022 D3 championship when they take on Oakdale HS (who has one of the top freshman pitchers in California). If DCHS is able to defend it's title it will have very likely gotten signficant contributions from seniors Matt Moses and Anthony Martinez. A week like Martinez had last week certainly shows how he impacts the fortunes of the Cougars.

In the three game game sweep of El Camino, the senior SS/P went 9-for-12 (HR, 2 2B, 7 RBI, 5 R) with a save on the mound in one inning of work (3 K). For the season he is hitting .420 (7 2B, 3B, HR, 18 RBI, 23 R, 10 SB, 11 IP, 1 H, 23 K, 7 BB, 0.00 ERA).

As such, we have selected 2023 SS/P Anthony Martinez of Del Campo HS as the NorCal Player of the Week for the week of May 1st - May 6th, 2023.
