NorCal Underclass Game Full List of Stats/Data/Metrics

Listed Alphabetically

Kai Chang C / 2B / Arlington, CA / 2025

Serious demeanor with a palpable intensity about him. Aggressive swing w/bat speed and hand speed tools w/90 mph max EV. Defensively stood out in the workout with cat quick actions out of the crouch which allows the raw are strength (73 mph) to play with best three pops 2.09-2.13. Went 1-for-4 in game action with a single and a deep, hard hit fly ball to CF.

Dario Freschi SS / 2B / Vintage, CA / 2025

A hard-hitting middle infielder who does it from the left side. Hitting tools showed up in BP first (94 mph max EV, 91.1 avg, 75% hard hit % which reflects balls hit over 90%, 70.5 mph max bat speed) and then in game play rocked a triple over the CFs head, while also showing discerning strike zone awareness. Playmaker on defense, closes on ball well w/quick release (79 mph arm).

Ethan Johnson C / 3B / King's Academy, CA / 2025

Overall tool set stood out as the brighest at the event. Physical body on this powerful young left-hand hitting backstop. Has the two tools that have traditionally been most desired at the position, big arm (79 mph, 2.08-2.11 range for best three pops) and powerful bat (96.9 max EV, 92.6 avg, 87% hard hit rate, 74.1 max bat speed), while also showing 2-strike hit-ability when he stayed back on a CB and flicked it down the LF line for a hustle double.

Rohan Kasanagottu RHP / Valley Christian, CA / 2025

Standing 6-foot-3 at 175-pounds, he's first noticeable in that regard. Better was that he showed projectable stuff, a clean arm action, repeatable delivery, and feel of both the FB and what proved to be a very effective breaking ball. FB topped at 84.8 mph (82-84 mph) w/2065 avg spin. It was his feel of, along w/the depth and lateral change of direction of the 76-77 mph slider that was most impressive.

Matteo Martinez SS / 2B / Clovis West, CA / 2025

An impressive all-around day and particularly so with a bat in his hands for the sweet-swinging LHH middle infielder. BP round gave first glimpse of what would show up in game play, w/92.3 mph max EV (86.9 avg, 25% hard hit %). Hand speed/bat speed are there and will keep climbing. In game play smashed two triples w/his short/quick stroke, direct to the ball w/power. Defensively he threw 79 mph across the diamond, ran 7.18.

Chase Nadeau C / 3B / Granada , CA / 2025

Did an awful lot well in a 'baseball player' type of way. Lean body with a lot of physical development still ahead, with skill and talent already showing up. Flashed catch/throw ability with 74 mph arm and low pop of 2.08 (range 2.08-2.19 for best three). Showed lively hands at the plate, loose and quick with feel for the barrel. Went 3-for-4 in game action to back up the bat control he showed in BP. Also a capable 3rd baseman.

Mason Ravera SS / P / Granada, CA / 2025

Flashed tools that will be described as toolsy in a year or so when he gains more physicality (25.1" vertical jump). Showed top INF arm at 81 mph with athletic actions at SS. Offensively he's got a swing that gets the barrel in the zone quickly and stays in the zone through contact. Oppo pop showed up in game play w/double to RCF along w/three other quality ABs. On mound up to 82.7 mph w/hints of a useable SL down the road.

Cooper Sides RHP / Red Bluff, CA / 2026

Young and talented with stuff, body (6-foot-3, 160-lbs), approach, feel, and confidence that all suggest a bright future and high ceiling. FB topped at 82 mph w/consistent 80-81 mph range (2025 max spin). Quick arm w/6.1' average extension which speaks to the effective/perceived velocity he will develop. Willing to throw FB or SL in any count, used SL (66-69 mph, 2190 max spin) quite effectively as an out pitch.
