ISLANDERS FIELD - LATHROP, CALIF. - A total of 39 position players were in attendance, 21 of whom competed on the mound.The event was comprised entirely of 2024/2025 grads, with one reclassified 2026 in attendance.

In addition to the traditional showcase (60 yard run, BP round, defensive workouts), the pitchers competed in live game action where their data was gathered, and each position player had four at-bats during the game they played in. LISTED IN ORDER OF MAX FASTBALL VELOCITY

Zach Baker, River City (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; 1B, K, K, K, E6, K, K, K
Body: 6-2, 160-pounds. Tall athletic frame. Will fill out nicely.
Delivery: windup has minimal movement horizontally. High leg lift into a belt high separation. Circles down to back knee and he sits deep on his back leg. Lands on a strong/stiff front leg. Loses a little on extension at release.
Arm Action: RH. Low separation, long arm circle back into an over the top release point. Consistently has his elbow up and scap loaded at front foot contact.
FB: T83, 79-82 mph. Commands the bottom of the zone and has the ability to miss bats up. Has good downward action allowing his fastball to change eye levels. Good avg spin rate of 1999 and has flashed upward to 2133.
SL: 73-75 mph. Works off the same plane as his fastball making it very hard to pick up out of his hand. Late depth. Has a secondary slider that has more of a curveball action.

Ryder Celenza, Nevada Union (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; K, E6, 1B, K, F2, F7, 1B, 4-3
Body: 5-9, 160-pounds. Broad shoulders, strong lower half.
Delivery: Hands start belt high and work up with leg lift. Sits on his back side as he travels down the mound. Stays on his line well. Lands strong at front foot contact allowing his hips to fire creating good hip/shoulder separation.
Arm Action: RH. High-3/4. Hands separate just after he hits his balance point. Has a small circle back leading into a strong scap load. Smooth action.
FB: T83, 79-82 mph. Commands/attacks zone consistently. Works downhill and has the ability to really spin his 4-seam. Has an average spin rate of 2151.
CB: 65-70 mph. 12/6 action with tight rotation. Spin rate of 2195 on average makes it have a hard bite that most hitters won’t recognize till it’s too late. Creates off balance swings and weak contact.

Kannon Sharpe, Enochs (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; 4-3, K, F1, 1B, K, K, K, 6-3
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds.
Delivery: stays connected. Works slightly across his body. Sits on his back side as he works downhill. Head falls off slightly at front foot contact. A lot of upside when cleaned up.
Arm Action: RH. Good linear moments that stay connected into a high-3/4 slot. Will improve as his head holds line better.
FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Lively and aggressive. High spin rate average of 2233. Will challenge hitters in any count. Works downhill with arm side run and depth
CB: 68-71 mph. Great pitch. High spin 2428, same release point, travels same line as FB. Hard bite. Can use in multiple counts.
CH: 75 mph. Hard change up. -5 off his FB. Used to induce weak contact or get hitters off his FB. Will develop into a solid straight change later in his career.

Austin Steeves, Casa Grande (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP
2 IP; F8, F9, F8, E5, 3B, 4-3, L8, IF 1B
Delivery: wind up has quick steps, keeps hands close to his body and works belt to chest with his hands. Brings front shoulder to chin at balance point. Stays closed down the mound with his front foot traveling slightly towards LHH batters box.
Arm Action: LH. Good long circle, strong glove side, strong/healthy scap load, whippy sweeping 3/4 slot.
FB: T82, 78-80 mph. Downhill horizontal big arm side run with some depth. Commands the zone. 
CB: 65-66 mph. Tight. Carries same plane as FB.
CH: 73-74 mph. Arm side run with depth. FB arm speed. Swing and miss/weak contact type CHG.

Ian Fernandez, Vintage (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; E6, 1-3, K, L8, K, F8, 5-3, F1
Body: 6-1, 162-pounds. Strong athletic build.
Delivery: standard straight up and down wind up. Minimal horizontal movements. Gets over the rubber very well and rides his line downhill. Front foot lands slightly closed causing him to work across a stiff front leg at times.
Arm Action: RH. Separates just above his belt, bringing the ball to thigh height. Good arm circle back into a straight over the top release point.
FB: T80, 76-79 mph. Works downhill. Commands the bottom of the zone well. Gets on hitters. Above average spin rate (2093) helps to keep hitters off balance.
SL: 71-73 mph. Tight rotation. Comes out of the same slot as his FB. Has late depth that works away from right handed hitters. Swing and miss pitch.
CH: 73-75 mph. Throws it with the same arm speed as his fastball. Has a parachute/horizontal run arm side that produces a lot of weak contact.

Jacob Moreda, Cardinal Newman (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; L7, K, F7, F9, L8, L6, K, K
Delivery: Tall/strong/healthy and repeatable (can clean up glove side a bit) wind-up is quick. Hands work north to south starting at his chest. Gets his leg up to chest height. Separates over his back side as he works down the hill. Has sort of a delay separating as he moves forward. Stays closed down the mound. Lands on a stiff front leg. Head stays balanced and over front knee.
Arm Action: RH. Gets into a good scap load and finishes with a high-3/4 slot.
FB: T80, 78-79 mph. Can pitch. Locates both sides of the plate, changed eye levels. Arm side depth/horizontal run.
CB: 67-69 mph. Knuckle curve. Nice bend, high spin rate 2218. Has the ability to stand hitters up. Can locate early and put hitters away late.
CH: 73-75 mph. Has feel and willingness to use, big fade and maintains arm speed to replicate the look of his FB.

Nicolas Sebastiani, Sonoma Valley (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
Delivery: Stays tall throughout. Long sweeping glove side towards the right handed hitter. Travels closed downhill until front foot contact.
Arm Action: RH. Scap loads into a high-3/4 release point. Has a relaxed arm circle back that’s repeatable and healthy.
FB: T80, 75-78 mph. Arm side horizontal run that flashes depth at times.
CB: 60-62 mph. Big 12/6. Hitters tend to give up on it out of his hand. Spin rate 2118. Has hard bite .
CH: 68-70 mph. -10 off his fastball. Gets hitters on front foot. Good action down.

Nathan Tichy, Pioneer (San Jose, CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; >I, 1-3, 5-3, IF 1B, L1, P4, L7, F8
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds.Strong and athletic. Will fill out over the next few years.
Delivery: connected from start to finish. Tall and over the rubber at separation. Closed down the mound landing slightly towards the left handed batters box.
Arm Action: RH. Good arm circle that stays linear to his glove side. Shoulders slightly tilt at front foot contact to allow a high over the top release point.
FB: T80, 78-80 mph. Downhill path with horizontal arm side run. Avg spin rate of 2084. Throws for strikes.
CB: 66-70 mph. North/south movement with longer break. Projectable spin (2103).
SL: 68-70 mph. A little tighter version of his curveball. On average a little higher spin rate than CB at 2161.
CH: 72 mph. Works on the same downhill plane as his FB. Arm side run.

Harry Pelzman, Serra (San Mateo, CA), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP
2 IP; 1B, K, F4, 1B, 5-3, F9, IF 1B, 4-3
Delivery: closed deceptive delivery. Comes set closed with his front foot offset in front of his back foot. Has a stiff front leg lift, glove side travel toward the left handed batter. Hitters down pick the ball up until it’s too late.
Arm Action: LH. Quick load out of separation working into a fluid low-3/4 delivery.
FB: T78, 73-76 mph. Comes from behind left handed hitters. Commands arm side. Can pitch in. Gets weak contact. Downhill tilt.
CB: 63-68 mph. Small sharp bite that works from the same release point as FB.
CH: 69-71 mph. Arm side horizontal run with late depth. Swing and miss pitch.

Joe Donnelly, Elk Grove (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP;K, K, 1B, L5, F9, 3B, 5-6, 3U
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds.
Delivery: windup- sets chest high, small step towards first letting his hands come down to belt high. Leg lift has a little kick out towards 3B. Separates as he brings his hands slightly back to his starting position. Good arm circle down, while having a strong glove side into a strong/healthy scap load. Lands on a strong front leg and has a tendency to finish across his body (easy clean up).
Arm Action: RH. Good separation over the rubber. Clean arm circle back keeping the ball towards SS. Gets into a solid scap load. Release is a 3/4 slot. His release point is short of his front foot. Will see big gains when he gains a foot and a half on his release point.
FB: T77, 74-76 mph. Has a well above average spin rate of 2248.With such a high spin rate his FB is perceived closer to low 80s to hitters. Works downhill.
SL: 69-70 mph. Best pitch. Going to be even harder to hit when he gains velo.
CH: 73-75 mph. Carries like a FB with change-up action. As FB velocity increases his change will become a strong 3rd pitch.

Ivver Vertulfo, Berean Christian (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; F7, 6-3, 1B, 1B, F6, K, F8, 4-3
Delivery: Wind-u with step towards first base side into leg lift. Hand start chest high. At balance point separates straight back with the glove mirroring the arm. Rides backside down hill consistently. Front foot lands slightly open cause back side to work around.
Arm Action: RH. Separates chest high. Takes arm straight back. Gets to a healthy high-3/4 release point
FB: T77, 74-76 mph. Moves it around the plate. Shows multiple versions.
CB: 66-68 mph. Small/medium wrinkle. Commands in the zone.
CH: 66-68 mph. Has a cut action to it that mimics his FB. -10 off of his FB. Keeps hitters unbalanced.

Luke Giusto, Justin-Siena (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
1 IP; F5, F8, K, F4
Body: 5-10, 187-pounds. Strong lower half. Broad shoulders
Delivery: stretch set position with a small step towards first into a leg lift with his foot working towards the rubber and his front knee working toward home. Minimal hand movements. Quiet separation over the rubber. Sits on backside as he works down the mound. Lands on strong front leg with his foot slightly closed.
Arm Action: RH. Belt high separation into a good arm circle down and back as he sits on his back side. Keeps the ball out on front as he works linear to the plate. High-3/4.
FB: T76, 73-75 mph. Effectively use his FB in and out. A lot of weak contact
CB: 60-61 mph. Big curveball with a hard bite. Hitters tend to give up on it out of his hand. Above average spin rate of 2210.
CH: 63-65 mph. Comes out of the hand looking like a FB and just dies straight down. A lot of early swings and check swings. Makes hitters feel unsettled in the box.

Bryson Kramer, River City (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; 1-3, 3U, K, 6-3, 1B, 1B, F4, F9
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds. Athletic frame.
Delivery: Wind up hands set high and stay there until separation. Leg lift slightly above his belt. Slightly bends the back leg as he works down the mound with a fairly quick delivery. Lands on a stiff front leg working across his body after release. Stretch- similar movements
Arm Action: RH. Separates high into a long full circle, opens glove side to allow for an over the top release point.
FB: T74, 71-73 mph. Works on a solid downhill plane with the occasional cut. Likes to attack early
CB: 62-63 mph. Wide break.
CH: 69-70 mph. Plays off his FB and thrown with the same FB conviction. Will also cut from time to time.

Miles Tenscher, Napa (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
1 IP; F7, 2B, K, 4-3
Delivery: hands work back at front leg lift. Upper body tilts chest over toes and he sinks into a side arm to low sidearm release. Closes off front side to further add more deception.
Arm Action: RH. Sidearm to low side arm release. Fast and whippy
FB: T74, 69-71 mph. Works north to south with some arm side run. Throws from side arm slot for more horizontal run and throws one from low sub to create north to south movements. Commands the zone.
CB: 60-64 mph. Bigger break working top to bottom. More looking than swinging. Strike one pitch
SL: 66-67 mph. Swing and miss pitch. Tight and later movement. Has more of a frisbee effect.
CH: 62-63 mph. Slower version of his FB from the low side arm slot. Keeps hitters honest.

Justin Sechler, Serra (San Mateo, CA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
2 IP; K, E3, K, 6-3, K, F7, 1B, 1B
Delivery: simple compact. Stretch position. Preloaded back side. Good synergy with leg and hands at leg lift and travel. Works a little horizontal at front foot contact
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 release with a repeatable arm circle.
FB: T72, 70-71 mph. Not overpowering. Will locate to both sides of the plate. Where he lacks in velo he makes up in movement. A lot of weak contact.
CB: 57-60 mph. Medium break with good depth and late bite. Thrown early for strikes.
CH: 58-61 mph. Same plain as his FB and is -10 velocity. Usual results: Swing and misses, takes early in the count and pop ups to the infield.
