REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Spencer Lanz, Buhach Colony (CA), 2023

Physical
: 6-3, 200-pounds; Broad shouldered, muscular build. 7.87 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat moving to upright position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a high finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 100 MPH via Trackman. Physical hitter, high level barrel awareness and feel, plus bat speed at the peak, short finish through contact indicating bat control through contact.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands work through the ball with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 82 MPH. Big target, arm is big for the position, able to make arm angle adjustments, plays with calm pace.

Ben Giovannetti, Woodside (CA), 2022

: 6-0, 210-pounds; Full, broad shouldered build. 7.67 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. 50/50 fly ball/line drive %, heavy sweet spot % of 75, plus hard hit rate of 62.5% (equals % of batted balls over 95 mph), has power and hit-ability to all fields, one of top uncommitted RHH in Northern CA.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while showing active feet. Hands are underneath the body while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 3B - 78 MPH. A little under the body to field, hands work, range is fair relative to natural footspeed, gets ball underway well, accurate.

Joshua Mirob, Crystal Springs Upland (CA), 2023

: 5-9, 190-pounds; Muscular, sturdy build. 6.98 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a gliding stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a finish around the back. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Heavy line drive % (55.6) and 33.3% fly balls, strong barrel awareness and feel, lively swing with extra base hit ability.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; walks into ready position while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 68 MPH. Light feet, soft hands, very athletic for the position, arm is adequate so long as he's accurate, gloves the ball cleanly.

Isaiah Figueroa, Don Lugo (CA), 2024

: 6-1, 225-pounds; Full, broad shouldered build. 7.77 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish with occasional top hand release. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Heavy fly ball % (80), nothing on the ground, has feel for his approach, the BP round was consistent swing to swing, strong barrel connection %, let's swing happen within his tools vs forcing it beyond what he needs to be successful.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are soft while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low-3/4 arm slot. 1B - 68 MPH. Outstanding footwork and feel for the position, soft hands with deft glove work, works back like a technician, accurate feeds to 2B.

Jim O'Brien, Serra (San Mateo, CA), 2023

: 6-1, 185-pounds; Rangy, long build. 7.95 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet wide spread; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a finish around the back. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Loose stroke, strong hard hit % number, somewhat upright throughout the swing which kept him above the ball a bit, stayed on-plane at a 73.7% clip.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are sure and confident with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 75 MPH. Focused approach, aggressive to ball, showed light feet, understands ball first principle, confident in his glove and footwork skills.

Brent Valentine, St. Francis (Mountain View, CA), 2024

: 5-11, 175-pounds; Average, proportional build. 7.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat moving to upright position. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with one-handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. 57.1 LD%, found barrel fairly routinely with consistent EV numbers in the round, calm in the box, simple lower body movements, swing tailored for a bit up and middle in.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while being aggressive. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 3B - 73 MPH. Sound footwork, clean from glove to hand, throws stay on-line, solid all-around mechanics with arm strength that should tick up a bit more in the coming years.

Morgan Winfield, Sequoia (CA), 2025

: 6-1, 220-pounds; Full, long build. 8.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet narrow; upright bat position. Extended take back of the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a finish around the back. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman. Some looseness in the wrists, whippy stroke, found sweet spot at 85.7% clip, tall in box, suited to handle the ball a bit up in the zone, EV numbers were consistent while showing power potential.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while showing active feet. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.  1B - 68 MPH. Confident in the glove work, gets throws to fielder at bag, patient defender with calm pace, sure-handed with efficient fielding mechanics.

Jack Lanham, Sequoia (CA), 2023

: 6-0, 180-pounds; Athletic, proportional build. 7.46 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Short finish, has strength, found barrel at a high clip (71.4% sweet spot), put ball in air easily, has capabilities of making spray line drive type contact.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while covering ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 3B - 79 MPH. Showed range for the position, arm plays though better when throwing with feet set under him, starts wide and ready with focus and intensity.

Rowan Sims, Los Altos (CA), 2023

: 5-11, 150-pounds; Lean, average build. 7.36 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 82 MPH via Trackman. Line drive and GB % were equal (42.9), showed ability to stay on-plane within his approach, gets barrel into the zone quickly, occasionally aggressive a bit early with top hand.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. 3B - 75 MPH. Fields out front and keeps ball off his body on the ball at him, rakes through backhand well, throws were a bit inconsistent (at times high a bit high and at times a little short).
