REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Matthew Gobel, Lodi (CA), 2023

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 87 MPH, while sitting 84-86 MPH; straight action. SL: 74-75 MPH; tilting break. CH: 73-76 MPH; runs. Prototypical durable type frame, easy loose arm, FB and SL spin both project well which when paired with velocity (now and future).

Liam Barrett, Mountain View (CA), 2024

Long arm swing while stabbing downward; high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 83-84 MPH; life through the zone. CB: 64-69 MPH; lands for strikes. CH: 66-69 MPH; fading action. Lively arm, energetic delivery with athleticism, aggressive attacker, flashes potential for three above average pitches as he moves forward.

Spencer Lanz, Buhach Colony (CA), 2023

Moderate arm swing while showing no restrictions; high 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 82-83 MPH; straight action. CB: 70-71 MPH; 11-5 shape. SL: 72-73 MPH; slurve like. Quick pace worker, attacking demeanor with ability to put pressure on hitter with mound presence, feel for the zone, reliever type repertoire where velocity could tick upward as he develops.

CH: 73-76 MPH; runs. Easy arm, FB can run away from RHH, big SL with big break with fairly late action, potential back foot pitch to RHH.

Aaron Melz, Sequoia (CA), 2023

CB: 64-67 MPH; lands for strikes. SL: 67-69 MPH; slurve like. CH: 73-74 MPH; maintains same plain. Strike thrower with feel of his repertoire, all four pitches from same release height, given his consistent control if the raw stuff comes along he's one to keep an eye on.

Benjamin Gudoy III, Francis Parker (CA), 2025

Feel of three pitches, repeatable delivery, works confidently, pitch movement patterns play well off each other, a 2025 to keep an eye on.

SL: 68-69 MPH; slurve like. Loosey goosey delivery, tucks at top of lift with ability to hide ball, lowers slot a bit on slider, both CB and SL have spin that allows positive projection of both pitches, delivery and stuff along with set up can create challenges for LHH and RHH alike.

OTHER: CT 70-73 MPH; CT: late lateral action. Varies delivery types and placement over rubber on occasion, easy actions, small backside, ability to throw strikes with CT showing as best pitch relative to movement and feel, FB plays off CT well.

CH: 68-70 MPH; fading action. Loose arm, can lower slot if need be for a different look, big slippery whiffle ball like SL is best pitch.

Will Siwinski, St. Ignatius College Prep (CA), 2024

Moderate arm swing while showing some scap load; high 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 76 MPH, while sitting 75-76 MPH; arm side run with sink. CB: 61-63 MPH; lands for strikes. SL: 70-73 MPH; short action. CH: 69-72 MPH; sinks. Classic lefty repertoire, feel of CB is above average, creates scissor effect off the FB action, ball hidden on backside.

Morgan Winfield, Sequoia (CA), 2025

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while showing no restrictions; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 72 MPH, while sitting 69-72 MPH; commands both sides. SL: 58-61 MPH; 2-tier break. CH: 63-66 MPH; fading action. Displayed feel for the zone with three pitches, big deceleration of CHG off the FB and ability to get in bottom of zone, slippery SL, with some physical body developments there is potential to evolve into a pitching prospect.

CH: 64-65 MPH; sinks. Strike throwing ability with three pitches, somewhat sneaky arm action coming from lower slot than expected with backside arm action, ability to start bats and feel to get hitters to expand.
