SALINAS & LINCOLN, CALIF. - We were at Hartnell College on 1/22/22 for the Central Coast Preseason ID and McBean Stadium for the Sacramento/Delta Preseason ID on 1/23/22. The events were run as straight showcases with a 60, BP, defensive workout and scripted pitching session for the pitchers. TrackMan was active during BP and for the pitching session, while Blast Motion was also active for the hitting session.

SACRAMENTO/DELTA PRESEASON ROSTER AND STATS

QUICK HITS

Listed alphabetically; click on the name for the full profile and additional stats.

Joseph Barros OF / RHP / Palma, CA / 2023

5-foot-11, 190-pounds, R/R - Well-rounded performance with a 60 of 7.13 that can get quicker, an 83 mph OF throw that had us wanting to see him on the mound (he only did the position player portion), and a robust 95.7 max EV during an impressively consistent hitting session as he pounded the ball gap to gap.

Johnny Carnazzo SS / 2B / Palma, CA / 2025

5-foot-6, 135-pounds, R/R - The last name is prevalent in the Central Coast region and he's on his way to adding to the family legacy. The skill and feel for the game are futher along than the raw talent at this time, which makes sense given his youth. Expect 7.45 60 to go lower, 71 mph arm to tick up, and 87.2 EV to rise.

Gavin Ducker C / 1B / Palma, CA / 2022

6-foot-2, 215-pounds, R/R - We've seen him a handful of times and the talent keeps showing up AND improving. Ran 7.06, clearly good for a catcher, 78 mph arm is a good number and still room for increases, pops 1.94, 1.96, 2.02, 2.07, and with bat speed up to 81 mph and 102.5 max EV, the juice is big time.

Alexander Glasscock SS / OF / Stevenson, CA / 2023

5-foot-8, 165-pounds, R/R - Lean body and twitchy, the all-around talent is quite clear, not to mention a demeanor and joy of the game he gives off. Ran two 60s, both under 7.00, best at 6.93. A top INF throw of 83 is good for the left side, with the ball tracking on-line to the target. A 92.5 max EV, for his size, is impressive.

Ian Guanzon 3B / P / Pleasant Valley, CA / 2022

6-foot-0, 195-pounds, R/R - Showed well as a two-way talent. Powerfully built, ran a 6.88 60-yard, threw 76 mph across the diamond and in a consistent BP round, showed consistent barrel ability, with 96.7 max EV. On the mound has a full repertoire (FB T84), both CB and SL (feel of both), and usable CHG.

John Handy C / 2B / Placer, CA / 2024

6-foot-0, 197-pounds, R/R - A physically put together and athletic catcher, with tools, talent and skill. Ran a 6.98 60-yard (on his second run), let go of throws from catcher with 75.4 max mph and pops 2.08, 2.09, 2.11, 2.12 to the bag, seemingly using the turf to his advantage. 96.8 max EV mph and loud contact.

Cameron Leaney OF / LHP / Redlands East Valley, CA / 2023

6-foot-0, 185-pounds, L/L - Up from SoCal, put together a very well-rounded showcase performance. Lean and athletic, with strength throughout. Ran a showcase low 6.90 60, unleashed a strong 85 mph top OF throw and showed HR power in BP with a max EV of 95.5, peppering fly balls to CF and deep RF.

Adrian Ruiz OF / 2B / San Benito, CA / 2023

5-foot-8, 150-pounds, R/R - Not biggest or explosive player, but clearly a highly skilled player and we've seen the strength steadily evolve. The 7.30 60 is a time that has been getting better, the OF throw of 80 mph is solid, fielding technique is flawless and 90.8 max EV at his size is indicative of a hardworking player.

Michael Ryan OF / Gridley, CA / 2023

5-foot-9, 170-pounds, R/R - Strong with explosive talent that shows in a few of his tools. A good runner with powerful strides, 6.95 60-yard time that when added to the 89 mph max OF throw, squarely puts his defensive talent at a very high level. That talent is also matched at the plate with a max EV of 99.3 mph.

Kade Spomer 2B / SS / Lincoln, CA / 2024

5-foot-7, 135-pounds, R/R - Not yet near physical maturity but showing the glimpses of talent and tools, along with outstanding energy and an engaging personality. Baseball Player. Ran 7.13 60, max SS throw up to 78 mph, with well-above average footwork and glove skills. 84.1 max EV will go up with strength.
