San Diego, CA - America's finest city has made its presence felt in the 2022 Prep Baseball Report - California rankings, with 13 players featured in the top 150. Coronado shortstop Ryan Ward is the highest ranked San Diego section player at third overall. Carlsbad right-handed pitcher and water polo star Finn McIlroy enters the top twenty at nineteenth overall thanks to impressive summer showings and a commitment to UCLA. Newcomers such as right-handed pitcher Eric Van Valkenburg an Oklahoma commit and uncommitted rising star shortstop Ian Halverson of Mission Vista have entered the fold.

Being the most populous state in the Union leaves many talented players outside looking in that likely would be featured in rankings in other states. Players throughout the Golden State have impressed this summer despite the playing restrictions and provide an impressive list to present. With 33 players overall, 11 with D1 scholarships and 23 uncommitted, this is a list you don't want to miss. Click on the player name below and it will take you to their full profile.
