Bellarmine v De La Salle, 2/20/18

Blaine Clemmens
Northern California Director of Scouting

On a chilly day in the East Bay, Bellarmine traveled from San Jose to take on perennial North Coast Section powerhouse De La Salle in Concord.  For those who like to keep score, Bellarmine won the game 7-2, in what could be called an upset for those who track rankings or those who put a ton of stock in late February match-ups.  Beyond that, we are here to scout the players, and in this game there definitely were some players of note, in particular, 2018 RHP Joe Ammirato, who touched up to 92 mph.  He was a participant on the A's Area Code team last summer, signed with Cal and presented himself as a pro prospect on this day.  The quality uncommitted senior pitchers were also noticed and for colleges still on the hunt for arms, we saw a few.
