Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights players that were nominated by their coaches for the SoCal Player of the Week award.

The following players had impressive performances during the week of March 26-April 1, and though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

Aydan Alger (Quartz Hill HS) - CG shutout. 1 hit allowed. 6 2/3 no hitter. 10 Ks. 2 walks.

Ryan Sanders (Quartz Hill HS): The junior St. Mary's commit threw a complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts, 1 walk, and 2 hits allowed.

Gunner Antillon (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Was 6-for-9, 3 BB, 1 HBP 3 Singles, 2 Triples, 1 Grand Slam, 7 RBI, 7 Runs Scored.

Connor O'Brien (Rancho Bernardo HS): Had Back-to-Back Game winning hits during Lions Tournament. Went 2-3 vs Grossmont with 4 RBI including a 7th inning 2 out, 3R HR. Went 2-4 vs. Clackamas (Oregon) with the walk off RBI single in the bottom of the 7th.

Cole Hillier (Glendora HS): Threw a 7 inning, 3 hit shutout over Bonita 1-0. He is now 4-0 on the season.

Erik Carmona (La Mirada): The uncommitted senior wen 6 IP, 12ks in 8-0 win over Bellflower

George Mercado (Palmdale HS): The junior was 4-for-6 with a double, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI, 2 walks, 1 stolen base; Also threw 7 innings pitched (2 earned runs) 7 Ks.

Owen Sharts (Simi Valley): In 3 games, the senior Nevada commit went 8-for-11 with 2 HR (1 grand slam) 10 RBI, 7 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. He also threw 5 innings punching out 9 while allowing 1 ER and 2 hits.

Gustavo Perez (Bonita Vista HS) The senior was 7/10 at the plate in the Lions Premier Division. He had 10 RBIs and scored 5 Runs. He hit a triple and a home run, 1HBP and 1 SB.

Angel Moreno (Hoover HS): In three games of the Lions Tournament he had 5 RBI, 5 hits and scored 2 runs.

Elijah Jackson (San Pasqual HS): The junior was 7-for-16 with 5 runs and 2 RBIs in the 5 games.

Jack Hyde (Grossmont HS): The junior RHP threw a no hitter as Grossmont beat Bishop Gorman 2-0. Hyde retired the last 18 straight striking out 7 of them. It was the first No Hitter at Grossmont High School since 1991.

Caden Ross (Arcadia): Senior LHP threw 6 shutout innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 7 and walking none.

Jeffrey Castillo (Arcadia): The junior shortstop was 5-for-7 with 4 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 rbi, 1 SB

Chad Born (Orange Lutheran): The sophomore outfielder was 6-for-11 with 5 runs and four walks at NHSI.

Cole Winn (Orange Lutheran): The senior Mississippi State commit went 6 IP, striking out 9, walking 2, allowing 1 hit, and 0 earned runs. Winn was also 4-9, 4 RBI, including 2-4 in final with 3 RBI on the week.

Max Rajcic (Orange Lutheran): The sophomore UCLA commit went complete game allowing 4 hits, striking out 5 and walking 1 over George Jenkins at the NHSI. Was also 3-for-8 at the plate on the week.

Emilio Rosas (Mater Dei): The senior USC commit was 8-for-15 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored at the NHSI

Grady Touhy (Villa Park): The senior went 7-for-13 with 2 doubles, 3 triples, 7 RBI, 5 Runs, and 3 walks.

Alex Pimentel (Villa Park): The junior was 6-for-14 with an RBI, a run scored, 4 stolen bases and a walk.

Caleb Martin (Villa Park): The sophomore went 5-for-9 with 3 doubles, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Justin Roberto (Villa Park): The senior pitcher threw a complete game and didn't allow an earned run, striking out 5 and walking 1 against Santa Barbara Hs

Noah Levin (Sierra Canyon): The senior second baseman was named San Diego Lions Tournament MVP after going 9-for-15, 2 HR, 10 RBI's, 9 Runs Scores, 5 SB

Marc Lidd (Crean Lutheran): The uncommitted senior third baseman was 9-for-13, with 4 doubles, 2 HR, and 10 RBI.
