Our weekly Diamond Notes will highlight players that were nominated for our weekly SoCal Player of the Week award and narrowly missed out on that honor. However, because of their efforts during the last week we want to highlight them here.

Below is a list of players that had impressive performances during the last week.

Erik Tolman (El Toro HS): 7 IP, 12K, 2H, BB; 7-for-13 6 RBI, 5R, HR. He's the best player on arguably the best team in the state.

Will Chambers (West Ranch HS): In 4 games last week, the senior switch hitter collected 8 Hits, 6 RBIs, 4 EBH, in 4 team wins. He's currently hitting .524 on the season.

Milan Tolentino (Santa Margarita HS): In 3 games last week he collected 5 Hits, 2 doubles , 3 Runs =, and hIt a walk- off homerun vs Edison. He also got the win with 2.0 IP and 2 K's against Edison.

Tyler Frazier (Santiago HS): Threw a complete game 4 hitter with 12 strikeouts against Hart in a 2-1 victory for the Sharks.

Victor Vodnik (Rialto HS): Pitched 5 innings giving up 0 zero hits and striking out 10. He also had 5 hits in 3 games last week.

Luis Ramirez (Salesian HS): The Long Beach State commit had 18 strikeouts in 7 innings, scattered 3 hits and gave up 1 run. Also had the walk off single to win the game in the bottom of the 8th against Cathedral.

Octavio Corona (Otay Ranch HS): Threw a No Hitter vs Serra High school with 14 strikeouts in a 1-0 win.

Griffin Selby (Foothill HS): The senior had 10 at-bats collecting 5 hits with 2 Doubles, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored.

Sean Higgins (Foothill HS): The senior had 6 at-bats collecting 3 hits, a double and a homerun, 4RBI, 3 runs; also pitched 6 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 ER and striking out 5 against Huntington Beach.

Chad Castillo (Foothill HS): The senior had 9 at-bats and collected 4 hits with a double, 2RBI, 3 runs scored.

Loren Franck (Harvard Westlake HS): The senior LMU commit was 4-for-7 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI for the week.

Alex Stegerwald (La Jolla Country Day School): On the week the junior catcher was 5-for-10 with a double, a home run, 6 RBI, 4 runs scored, and a stolen base.

Zach Schwartzberg (La Jolla Country Day School): On the week the sophomore infielder was 6-for-11 with a double, a home run, 3 RBI, and 4 runs scored.

Darius Garcia (Gahr HS): The senior UC Irvine commit threw 5 IP with 9 strikeouts and scattered 4 hits and allowed zero earned runs in a win over Corona Del Mar.

Anthony Firestone (Santa Barbara HS): The starting sophomore catcher went 6-for-10 against Valencia, St. Francis, and Buena. He's currently batting .500 on the season.

Tucker Juline (Upland HS): The sophomore pitcher/first baseman was 3-for-9 with 3 RBI's and 2 walks; also threw a complete game striking out 7 and allowing 2 hits.

Alfred Ruiz (Santa Fe HS): The Long Beach State signee was 5-for-7 with a double, a triple, 2 walks, 4 stolen bases and 5 runs scored. Also threw a no-hitter in which he struck out 11 and didn't allow a walk on 78 pitches!

Elijah Tolsma (Bishop Montgomery HS): The sophomore was 4-for-6 with a single, a double, a home run, and 3 RBI. He also scored 3 runs and had a stolen base.

CJ Culpepper (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Threw a complete game against Charter Oak in which he struck out 10 and allowed one earned run.

Ryan Kurtz (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Threw a complete game on 86 pitches in which he scattered 4 hits and struck out 5 against Walnut.

Noah Rinehart (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Threw a complete game against Pomona allowing 1 earned run.

Anthony McFarland (Valley View HS): In their lone game of the week, McFarland was 3-for-4 with a double against Temescal Canyon.

Jake Reed (JSerra HS): The senior righty went 6.2 innings and didn't allow a hit while striking out 8 and walking 2 in a 7-0 win over Damien.

Brett Bailey (Villa Park HS): The senior center fielder was 3-for-8 with a triple, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and a stolen base. His 2 RBI triple help the Spartans pull ahead for good in their game against Marina.

Jack Loechner (Laguna Beach HS): Loechner was 7-for-9 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Also pitched 5 innings allowing one earned run to earn the win over Katella.

Cole Hiller (Glendora HS): The junior pitcher threw a complete game with 7 strikeouts, 1 walk, scattering 4 hits, and allowing 1 run.

Braxton Hutcherson (La Habra HS): The uncommitted senior infielder was 4-for-6 with two singles, a double, a home run, 6 RBI, and 3 walks.
