Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights players that were nominated by their coaches for SoCal Player of the Week award. 

The following players had impressive performances during the week of April 9-15, and though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

Kobe Morgan (Rancho Cucamonga HS): The senior 1B/OF was 3-for-6, with 2 HR's, 4 RBI, 2 walks, and 2 HBP.

Jonathan Robinson (Rancho Cucamonga HS): The senior OF/RHP was 6-for-9 with 3 RBI and 2 stolen bases.

Noah Rinehart (Rancho Cucamonga HS). The junior RHP pitched a complete game shut out on just 68 pitches finishing with 7 strikeouts and 0 walks.

Ryan Kurtz (Rancho Cucamonga HS): The senior RHP threw a complete game striking out 20 and walking none on only 81 pitches.

Abraham Sanchez (Monte Vista HS):The sophomore tossed 7 innings, scattering 3 hits, striking out four and not allowing a walk.

Jack McClellan (Temescal Canyon HS) The sophomore went 3-for-7 with 2 triples, 1 run, 1 walk, 2 stolen bases and drove in 4 RBIs.

Kevin Rivera (Hoover HS) The freshman pitched a complete 7 inning game, throwing only 65 pitches and losing the shutout in the top of the seventh. He also was 2-for-3 with a run scored and 3 RBI.

Max Rajcic (Orange Lutheran HS): The sophomore UCLA commit pitched 5 shutout innings striking out 9 and allowing two hits. He was also 3-for-7 with 3 RBI on the week.

Christian Rodriguez (Orange Lutheran HS): The sophomore University of Miami commit pitched a complete game scattering 7 hits and striking out 7 in the series clinching win over St. John Bosco.

Brett Bailey (Villa Park HS): The senior was 4-for-8 with a triple, a home run, 4 RBI, 4 runs scored, 2 walks and a stolen base. The home run was a game winner against Esperanza in the T7th on an 0-2 count and 2 outs to give Villa Park a 13-10 lead. They went on to win 13-12.

Alex Pimentel (Villa Park HS): The junior was 7-for-9 with a double, an RBI, and 3 runs scored. He also had 3 stolen bases.

Grady Tuohy (Villa Park HS): The senior was 4-for-9 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and 5 runs scored.

Michael Shcharber (Villa Park HS): The senior was 6-for-9 with 2 doubles, an HR, 7 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Tonio Ard (Villa Park HS): The junior was 5-for-8 with a double and 2 runs scored.

Hayden Winters (Esperanza HS): The uncommitted senior was 8-for-12 with 3 doubles, 4 runs scored, 2 RBI in Esperanza's 3-0 week.

Jeremy Knutzen (Valley View HS): In two games, Knutzen went 6-for-7 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, 2 walks, 1 intentional walk, and he recorded a save.

Grant Rasmussen (Faith Baptist HS): The sophomore threw a complete-game shutout, scattering 3 singles, walking none and striking out 7. He also went 3-for-6 with a double, 4 runs scored, 2 RBI and 2 walks.

Chandler Champlain (Santa Margarita) The senior USC commit was 7-for-11 with 4 RBI and 2 doubles; He also threw 5 Innings striking out 8 in a win over Mater Dei.

Chris Wilson (Arcadia HS): The uncommitted sophomore threw his 2nd consecutive complete game shutout, going 5 IP (mercy rule) striking out 5, walking none, and allowing only 2 hits.

Tim Van Kirk (Arcadia): The senior went 4-for-7 in his series vs. Glendale driving in 3 runs and scoring 3 times.

Dawson Dimon (Quartz Hill HS): The senior San Diego State commit went 8-for-9 with 10 RBI, 7 runs scored, a double, 2 HR's, and 2 hit-by-pitch. For good measure he threw out 3-of-4 would be base stealers.

Robbie Mansour (San Dimas HS): Mansour, a freshman, paced the Saints offense going 5-for-6 with 6 RBI, 3 runs scored, a double, a triple and 3 walks – he struck out once this week (only his second strikeout all season in 57 PA's)

Brett Wozniak (Cypress HS): The sophomore was 5-for-7 at the plate. He also got the save on Friday striking out the last 2 hitters with the tying run on 3rd and the bases loaded. He then came right back the next day and got win over Dana Hills Saturday throwing 6 innings giving up 4 Hits, and 2 Runs.

Josh Landry (Cypress HS): The senior LHP threw a complete game 3 hitter allowing only 1 run.

Garett Crenshaw (Cypress HS): The junior right fielder was 5-for-9 with a triple and 3 RBI.

Jesse Parraz (Alemany HS): The uncommitted junior first baseman went 8-for-12, with 8 RBI (1 HR) in the Warriors sweep of Loyola.

Noah Cardenas (Alemany HS): The senior UCLA commit was 6-for-10, with 3 RBI (1 HR) in the Warriors series sweep of Loyola.

Spencer Serven (Edison HS): The uncommitted senior outfielder was 5-for-5 with an HR, 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, a walk and a hit-by-pitch.

Thomas Parker (Heritage HS): Was 4-for-7 with 2 walks, a double, and 2 RBI. Parker also had the game winning walk off hit on Friday vs Lakeside.

Eric Silva (Laguna Beach HS): Silva was 6-for-8 with 3 RBI, 3 doubles, 4 runs scored and a save on the mound.

Grady Morgan (Laguna Beach HS): The senior was 5-for-9 with 4 RBI, 4 runs scored, a double and an HR.

Patrick Monroe (Loara HS): The junior LHP threw a no-hitter with 7 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a home run in that game, while adding another hit and RBI in the other game the Saxons played last week.
