SoCal Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - With HS baseball well underway all across SoCal we have been privy to several standout performances throughout this spring season. Because of the amount of standout performances around the region choosing one player for the weekly honor was quite difficult.  

Congratulations are in order for Senior Oliver Boone out of Notre Dame HS as he has been awarded the SoCal Player of the Week for the week of April 10rd - April 15th, 2023. 

Boone, a Cal commit, pitched a dominant game in the quarterfinals against one of the top teams in the state in JSerra. It was a CG shutout performance where he allowed 2H, 1BB, and K’d 8. This win was one of ND’s four in their championship run at the Boras Classic. Boone has had a strong spring so far, currently sitting at 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA through 34 innings. He is one of the best pitch-ability arms in the state where he has true command of a 3-pitch mix which includes his sinking FB that sits in the high 80s, a legit sweeping slider he gets a ton of RHH chase/whiff with and a downward fading CH that plays extremely well off the FB. Below is some video from a recent start of his this spring. Boone is a special arm on a loaded ND pitching staff that has them currently sitting as the #1 team in the state.
