SoCal Player of the Week: Luis Ramirez

PBR California Staff

2019 RHP Luis Ramirez - Salesian HS - has been named the Prep Baseball Report Player of the Week for Southern California thanks to his outstanding performances during the last week that saw him lead Salesian to an undefeated week in which he contributed with the bat and on the mound.

The Mustangs faced off with a scorching hot St. Paul Swordsmen at East LA College on Wednesday night to open Camino Real League play and pulled out the 1-0 victory.

Didn’t matter if it’s what at the plate or on the mound, Ramirez was a major reason the Mustangs pulled out the league opening victory. The Long Beach State signee was lights out on the mound as he pitched a complete game, 1 hitter while registering 9 strikeouts in the 1-0 league opening win. Ramirez also had the lone RBI for Salesian with a double off the left field fence finishing 2-for-3 with 1 RBI.  He is now 3-0 on the season with and ERA under 1 with 26 strikeouts

For the season, the future Long Beach State Dirtbag is now 3-0 on the season with and ERA under 1.00 and 26 strikeouts on the mound while contributing at the plate as well.

For his efforts Ramirez has been named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the week for the week of February 25th - March 3rd.

Prep Baseball Report California salutes Ramirez’s hard work and success both on-and-off the field.
