The Five (CA): Uncommitted CCS Division 1 Players

Central Coast Section, CA - The Central Coast Section brackets and seeding have been set creating great matchups in each of the Divisions. Today we will look at five uncommitted players who have the chance to impact the Division 1 Playoffs for their teams. These five players were all seen during the regular season and have displayed skill sets worthy of a roster spot at the next level. Helping their team through a playoff run will could only boost their value.

Uncommitted CCS Division 1 Players

2019 RHP/OF Ryan Baum (Los Altos)

QUICK TAKE: Baum has been a multi-year two-way star for the Eagles and will be counted on as the veteran in a young lineup during these playoffs. He’s their unquestioned Ace on the mound and a key offensive piece in one of the best lineups in the playoffs. Look for Baum to show his two-way abilities in this bracket.

2020 OF Carson Yates (Leland)

QUICK TAKE: Yates is a multi-sport athlete and that plus athleticism is ever present in his game. He’s got speed, power and high bat-to-ball skills. He can track the ball well in RF and has also pitched for Leland giving him multiple ways to impact the club. The Chargers will need him to continue to produce as he has all season and help lead them to the D1 Title.

2020 3B Max Farfan (Salinas)

QUICK TAKE: Faran can change the game with the swing of his bat showing over the fence power all season and above-average bat-to-ball skills. He’s a patient hitter who knows his zone and won’t chase pitches outside of it. At 3B he’s got the glove and arm to stick at the position with the athletic ability to take away hits and help his pitchers.

2021 C Aaron Parker (Los Altos)

QUICK TAKE: Parker has burst into the CCS this season showing off his excellent hitting skills with the ability to drive the ball to any part of the ballpark. Defensively he’s quick and agile with the arm strength to cut down runners and keep the Eagles in games. His bat is the type that could carry Los Altos to another D1 title.

2021 OF Gabe Tapia (Santa Teresa)

QUICK TAKE: The OF has shown very good range in RF playing like a CF in the position with the arm strength to cut down runners and keep them from taking another base. Tapia has got quickness in the bat with the ability to hit atop the lineup for Santa Teresa and get on base to impact their chances at victory.
