Each week, coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball California Player  of the Week for NorCal and SoCal. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 1 Players of the Week honor to Ari Silva (McClatchy, 2026) and Tyler Brereton (Arcadia, 2027). Silva went 3/3 at the plate with two doubles while pitch four no-hit innings. Brereton went 6/9 with a double, triple, and a home run on the week, collecting two RBIs and four runs scored. He also came out of the bullpen and threw a scoreless inning.

There were a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable.
