On Thursday, January 2nd, the PB California staff traveled to JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA, to host the Orange County Preseason ID, an open event for the class of 2025-2028.

Nearly 60 players made their way to JSerra this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

TOP INFIELD PROSPECTS

1. Jonah Boyd, Ruben S. Ayala High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 5-10, 150 pounds. Athletic frame with room to add strength.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance that evens out when he strides. Narrow base, stands tall through swing. 65.6 mph bat speed with 8g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (82.2 avg.); 290-foot max batted distance. Long one-handed finish. Consistently pulls the ball.
Arm: RH. INF - 75.00 mph. Low three quarters release across the infield.
Defense: Athletic footwork progressing through the play.
Athletic Testing: 6.92 runner in the 60-yard dash; Long high strides.
