All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the #317 ranked player in the 2025 class in SoCal '25 C/OF Blake Gregory from Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, Calif.. Gregory has been a vital piece of the Cabrillo squad over the past two seasons in which they have made aCIF-Central Section title game and quarterfinal runs hitting at the top of their lineup while providing steady/stalward defense behind the dish. In 2024 Gregory put together an impressive .411/.539/.622 slash line over 115 plate appearances with 90 official at bats. The LH hitter picked up 6 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homeruns while driving in 11 and scoring 35 runs (he was their leadoff hitter) plus posted a 18 BB - 7 K ratio on the spring. Just to add to his profile he took the mound for a total of 5 IP punching out 12 hitters against just 2 BBs with a 1-0 record in 2 appearances (will likely close for the Conquistadores in 2025).

A wiry athletic built 5'9 155.6 lbs. frame he shows off impressive athletic ability at a premium defensive spot posting a 6.76 60 with 3.76 - 30 yard and 1.64 - 10 yard splits while positing a 20.8 MPH max run speed (which should he move out from behind the plate at any point gives him plenty of athleticism to handle CF/2B  where his LH bat will definitely profile). But, don't jump to quick to move him out from the premium spot at catcher as his arm plays well back there with a 79 MPH C arm velocity and pop times in the 1.94-2.06 range with accuracy and a strong receiving/blocking profile.

With plenty to like about Gregory on the defensive side of the game his offensive profile takes his toolset to the next level as a strong LH hitter who flashes impact in the profile. He plays his travel baseball in the summers for a team based out of Arizona and has attended the AZ summer ID series and AZ Preseason All State through the connection where he posted intriguing Blast Motion metrics. From a smooth operation in the box he gets to 21.1 MPH of hand speed, 70.8 MPH of bat speed with 16.4 Gs of rotational acceleration with a strong feel for hard contact posting a 57% sweet spot rate. His approach/timing help to produce strong batted ball data on Trackman Technologies including a max EV of 96.9 MPH while averaging 88.3 MPH on his exit velocity with a 369' max distance showcasing the carry he gets on well struck baseballs. Even more impressively is his consistent feel to get that hard contact in the air with authority posting a 93% flyball-line drive rate as the AZ Preseason All State and a 65% flyball-line drive rate on the AZ Summer ID series.

Gregory has shown a consistent ability to perform at a high level on the high school/travel ball circuit with high quality metrics backing up his stats making him one of the intriguing names on the Central Coast of California that college programs should be paying attention to this spring to bolster their 2025 classes.
