Today, we put the spotlight on the #235 ranked player in the 2025 class in NorCal '25 RHP Luke Kaiser from Folsom High School in Folsom, Ca. Kaiser was the top arm for the Bulldogs of Folsom High School during his JR. campaign and put together a solid season. He fronted the rotation with 42.1 IP over 10 appearances and won 4 games against just 2 losses. His underlying numbers were solid punching out 38 hitters on the season while allowing just 2 HRs over the season and posted a 3.14 ERA. In addition, Kaiser was one of the top arms at the 2024 Prep Baseball California NorCal Preseason All State, plus has attended the 2023 CA State Games and 2023 Peninsula Preseason ID

During his bullpen at NorCal Preaseason All State the 6' 190 lbs. righthander showed a 3 pitch mix that was fronted by a solid present FB working at 86-88 touching 88.2 MPH on the peak side. Kaiser throws his FB with soid present spin rates around 2345 RPMs and peaking at 2399 RPMs over his outing showing heavy arm sid run in the movement profile averaging 19.2" of HM with a peak of 21.8". He throws it from a lower arm slot with a 5' release height. Backing up his FB is a trio of offspeed offerings in his solid SLD and intriguing SPLT. The SLD comes in at 69-72 MPH with a two plane (slurve like) shape inducing -16.8" of glove side horizontal break on average with -2.9" of average vertical depth on the offering and peaking at 2570 RPMs on its spin rate. His SPLT works in the 72-75 MPH range with effective ability to kill spin on the pitch going as low as 944 RPMs of spin while inducing sink/run on the offer. The SPLT averaged -3.6" of IVB while peaking at -5.6" of IVB while getting as much as 18" of arm side run on the pitch. Kaiser showed better feel for throwing his SLD for strikes at a 75% rate in zone while his SPLT was in the zone just 25% of the time. The duo gives him a soft contact offering with swing/miss potential in the SLD and a chase offering in the SPLT especially with the similar movement profile to the arm side as his FB.

Kaiser looks to have a starters profile with 2 solid offerings and an intriguing 3rd offering behind it and the feel to throw all 3 for strikes at a solid rate. He adds a solidly built frame and quality delivery to profile to handle a starters workload as evidenced by his strong JR. campaign and figures to be the Bulldogs ace again in 2025. If a move to the bullpen is needed at the next level Kaiser has leverage relief potential and could see a bump up in life on his offerings over shorter outings, especially with the lively SPLT offering in his arsenal.
