Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series returns as we stare straight ahead towards the 2025 CIF High School baseball rapidly approach for the '26 class. With than in mind Prep Baseball California is highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '26 athletes for college programs to be following come this spring. The player featured today is one of the top players in the state of California and figures prominently in our Class of 2026 Rankings. 

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the #102 ranked player in the 2026 class in SoCal '26 3B/RHP Wyatt Mohler from Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. Mohler is coming off an electric Soph. season for the rising Los Osos Grizzlies program where he slashed .449/.526/.582 in 114 plate apperances with a nearly even K/BB rate (9/8) over that span. Mohler collected 10 doubles on the season while hitting 1 HR, driving in 19 runs and scoring 28 runs (finishing Top 3 on the team in nearly every offensive category). In addition the righthander made 13 apperances on the mound going 1-1 with 5 saves and posting a 1.36 ERA. His underlying pitching stats showed well too with 16 Ks in 25.2 IP walking just 5 hitters and allowed only 12 hits on the spring. 

The 5'11 170 lbs. Mohler is a wiry strong framed product who shows solid present tools across the board. As a defender he profiles as a strong to potential impact defender at 3B (from workout and live game looks) with solid present arm strength (84 MPH INF arm velocity) that shows accuracy with carry on his throws. The feet and hands work well playing better laterally, but showing feel to come downhill on soft contact. At the plate he shows a whippy quick bat with a quick turn in his lower 1/2 and feel to use his hands well in the swing path that has LVG to the gaps and loft to pull side. His Blast Motion data is solid with 20.5 MPH of hand speed, 66.5 MPH of bat speed, 12.1 Gs of rotational acceleration including a 56% sweet spot rate. As solid as the swing data is the batted ball data for Mohler shows even better with his consistent feel for the barrel and strong approach at the plate. Mohler maxes out at 97.7 MPH on his exit velocity while averaging 86.7 MPH on Trackman with a 349' max distance to go with a 56% hard hit rate. His swing is more compact and direct with a flatter path that generates hard contact that will play to high hit potential and adds solid present power with potential for more as he gets stronger.

Rounding out his profile is the leverage reliever profile he presents on the mound from an athletic delivery with quick present arm speed and a solid 3 pitch mix. On Trackman he has shown a consistent 84-85 MPH FB which tops at 86 MPH with arm side running life that plays well down in the zone for ground ball contact. Backing it up with a sound 72-74 MPH SLD with horizontal breaking life up to -18.5" to the glove side and adds an average of -4.0" of vertical depth. Adding a solid CHG as the 3rd offering Mohler throws it at 78-79 MPH with fade/tumble to the arm side and solid feel for the strike zone. He attacks from a deceptively low release point averaging around 4'3" - 4'7" at release. Mohler attacks the zone and can mix his pitches to get soft contact/uncomfortable swings, but can improve his ability to miss bats with added life to his arsenal. 

Mohler's profile leans a little more towards the position player side at present especially as he gets more athletic with added strength to his frame as he matures the present foundation of strong tools are going to continue to tick up, but the quality of what he does on the mound does provide some two-way potential for him in the future. Wherever a college programs prefers the Inland Empire talent they would be well served to keep tabs on him for their '26 recruiting classes.
