The talented righthander has stood out in multiple live looks for the Prep Baseball California staff in the San Diego area while also showing very well at the 2025 San Diego Preseason All State. To begin his JR. campaign at Patrick Henry, Gunn has toed the rubber for seven innings currently (four games into spring as of 3/17/2025) with 10 strikeouts, three walks allowed, four hits allowed and just one unearned run scoring against him. He is poised to be a key arm for the Patriots in 2025 while during his Soph. season at Patrick Henry, Gunn made one appearance going six innings to earn a win while striking out four, walking two, allowing five hits with two runs (one earned) scoring against him. He is a solid athlete who also will see at bats as an OF.
With athletic wiry strong frame Brady checks in at 6' 188.7 lbs. with room to still add some strength as he matures. During his live outing at the San Diego Preseason All State event Gunn flashed a strong three pitch mix with a 86-90 MPH FB that touched 91 MPH showing impressive riding life in the movement shape. Gunn posted an average IVB of 20.6" while maxing out at 24" on IVB during his outing against five hitters. He throws the FB from an average 5'7" release height with an average of 5'8" of extension and threw it in zone nearly 60% of the time. Backing up his quality FB Brady throws a pair of solid present offspeed pitches that both show potential (live looks and from San Diego Preseason All State) in his SLD and CHG. The SLD for Gunn shows a tight shape coming in at 78-79 MPH with 2000+ RPMs and averaging 1.0" of horizontal break with a peak of .4" of horizontal break throwing it from a 5'5" average release height giving it a similar look at ouf the hand to his FB. His CHG shows upside coming in at 72-75 MPH with 15.8" of horizontal movement to his arm side on average while throwing it from a 5'5" of average release height with 5'3" of extension also keeping it close to the FB delivery.
At the plate Gunn shows off a solid offensive profile with sound Blast Motion metrics and Trackman batted ball data. Gunn posted a peak of 20.8 MPH on hand speed, 67 MPH on bat speed with rotational acceleration up to 14.6 Gs. His Trackman batted ball data included a 94.8 MPH max exit velocity with an average of 89.8 MPH. With strong tools across the board as a right handed pitcher who is performing at a strong level against quality competition who possesses the athleticism to hit at the high school level Gunn is a name to keep eyes on for college programs in the 2026 class.

Scouting Report
Gunn took the mound for the Patriots and delivered a dominant outing. He racked up seven strikeouts while allowing just four hits and an unearned run in six innings of work. Despite throwing 101 pitches, Gunn remained in control, attacking the zone with confidence and executing his pitches effectively throughout the game. Gunn featured a lively fastball, sitting 87-89 mph and topping 91, with late arm-side run that he spotted effectively on the inner half. He attacked hitters early in counts with the heater, showing confidence in challenging both righties and lefties to their pull side. His slider (77-80 mph) was a true wipeout pitch, tunneling well off his fastball and generating swings and misses, especially in two-strike counts. It had late, sharp bite, making it difficult for hitters to track out of his hand. His curveball (72-73 mph) played with a classic 12/6 shape, diving late and serving as an effective early-count strike or a chase pitch when needed. One of the most effective weapons in Gunn’s arsenal was his changeup (75-77 mph). He showed great feel for the pitch, throwing it with consistent arm speed, making it difficult for hitters to differentiate from his fastball. The late arm-side fade kept hitters off balance, leading to weak contact and swing-and-miss results, particularly against left-handed batters. He wasn’t afraid to throw it in key situations, using it to disrupt timing and induce soft ground balls. The changeup played a crucial role in his ability to work deep into the game, giving him a true four-pitch mix that made him tough to square up all contest. There were two main takeaways that stood out to me the most with Gunn. He was able to really maintain his composure throughout, working efficiently despite a high pitch count and also, his ability to tunnel his pitches made him especially tough to barrel up, generating swings and misses and weak contact against the entire Mt. Carmel lineup.
