2025 CHSAA Players of the Week: March 17-22
March 24, 2025
Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.
NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches and others from around our state. If you are a interested in nominating a player, please contact Marc Wagner ([email protected]).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Carter Wilcox LHP / OF / Cherokee Trail, CO / 2025One of the most dominating arms out of Colorado at the moment is left-hander Carter Wilcox. The 2023 Future Games alumni and Iowa commit has now been seen up to 95 mph twice this spring, and just put together an outstanding start during his team's trip to Arizona. Against Saguaro, Wilcox tossed 5 innings with 14 Ks, 0 earned runs, 2 hits, and 2 walks allowed. The senior southpaw is certainly someone to watch close as he is actively developing and comes with a highly deceptive slider around 2,800 rpm to go with his electric fastball. Take a look at some clips below of Wilcox this spring:

Cole Teltschik C / SS / Discovery Canyon Campus High School, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 1
Teltschik is a 2024 Future Games alumni and a Missouri State commit who is now hitting .800 through his first 27 plate appearances of the season. Last week, Teltschik helped keep his team undefeated by going 5 for 6 with a HR, 3 doubles, 9 RBI, and 2 walks. The junior has some easy strength and plenty of natural feel on the diamond overall. We have also seen Teltschik present some higher level catching abilities thanks to an 83 mph catcher throwing velocity and quality receiving/blocking actions. Discovery Canyon is now 7-0 and Teltschik's full hitting line on the year consists of an .800 average, 7 doubles, 2 homeruns, 19 RBI, 10 walks, and a 2.482 OPS. We can also tell you that Teltschik has yet to strikeout across any of his plate appearances this spring.
