Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

The Red-Tailed Hawks are coming off of a formidable 2024 where they placed 2nd in the Pikes Peak 4A league. Coach Swope has plenty of experienced seniors returning for this spring, but this program did lose most of their starting pitching from a year ago. However, all five of the Red-Tailed Hawks' leaders in batting average from last season are back again, which includes seniors Jansen Roberts, Nate Glad, and Charlie Scofield, alongside Colton Johnson who hit .368 as a freshman. Left-handed hitting Jansen Roberts posted some very impressive numbers in 2024 thanks to his .518 average, 4 home runs, 3 triples, 12 doubles, 18 stolen bases, and a 1.449 OPS across 101 plate appearances. If the Red-Tailed Hawks can garnish some quality innings on the mound this spring, we could see their offense carry them deep into the 4A state playoffs.
