Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

Erie has been a successful program in recent years, but coach Dillinger is looking for this squad to help make the next jump into even more competitiveness at the 5A level. The Tigers return plenty of firepower for 2025, which includes Future Games alumni Maddox Burnett who could help carry this team both on the mound, and at the plate. Burnett comes with a fastball in the 90s with plenty of overall athleticism on the baseball field. We can also tell you that Ward (.486 BA), McMaster (.392 BA), and Van Aelstyn (.359 BA) were big contributors offensively for the Tigers in 2024 while Jack Carnival hit .313 as a freshman last spring. Kaden Bertsch and Burnett will likely be the anchors on the mound for Erie this season, and they do have an overall roster that could build plenty of momentum throughout the year. Some important matchups on the schedule for Erie this spring are against Broomfield, Legacy, Chaparral, and Douglas County.
