Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

The Sabercats return plenty of firepower for 2025 even after losing impact players like Easton Miller, Shane Crough, and Jensen Planansky. The head of this pitching rotation will likely be led by right-hander Vedant Sharma and lefty Brek Benedict. Both senior arms are headed to play Division I baseball after this spring, and come with quality overall stuff. Benedict pitched to the tune of a 1.39 ERA across 45.1 innings with 71 Ks, 15 walks, and 35 hits allowed in 2024. Sharma has been seen up to 95 mph this winter, and the Future Games alumni comes with a high ceiling as he approaches his senior season. Morgan (.500 BA in 2024), Gaca Thiele (.412), Griffin (.423), and Bradford (.333) should lead the offensive assault for the Sabercats this spring as each of them proved they can produce at the 5A level last season. Some key matchups for the Sabercats in 2025 are against; Cherry Creek, Regis Jesuit, Mountain Vista, Rock Canyon, Rocky Mountain, and Windsor.
