2025 CHSAA Team Preview: Grandview HS

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

The Grandview Wolves are coming off of a 2024 spring season where they pushed into the 5A Final Four. This group returns with the same pitchers who racked up 163 innings together last season, and 10 overall players with varsity experience. Grandview will need to replace their shortstop, catcher, and centerfielder from last spring but they still have plenty of firepower for 2025. The Wolves biggest strength will likely be their pitching this year thanks to four starters who can stifle about any offense in; Ethan Wachsmann, Jax Pfister, Justin Dean, and Nick Martensen. Both Pfister and Wachsmann are Prep Baseballl Future Games alumni who come with huge ceilings. Wachsmann might just have the best overall stuff in Colorado thanks to a fastball over 91 mph and the ability to spin his breaking ball up to 3,125 rpm. Pfister is one of the funkiest arms within the state and has pitched exceptionally well historically in spring with his fastball around 90 mph and great feel for a slider.
