The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

Coach Fobes has been with the Trojans' program for 23 years now and is looking forward to returning plenty of experience for the 2025 season. Longmont has 8 players coming back this spring who got varsity time last year, including 3 year starting catcher and West Coast Games alumni Collin Pool. Pool hit for a .476 average with 9 doubles, 3 triples, a home run, and 11 stolen bases while also chucking 29.1 quality innings on the mound in 2024. We anticipate most of the innings to come from seniors Smaic (39.2 IP, 49 Ks in spring '24) and Pool on the mound for the Trojans this year. Longmont will take on the 4A/3A Granite Peaks League in 2025 while also matching up with some tougher 5A programs such as; Legacy, Horizon, and Broomfield.
