Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 6th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK:

The University Bulldogs once again return to the 3A class for baseball in 2025 where they are perennially one of the threats to make it deep into the state tournament. This program is led by coach Casey Miller who is now entering his 8th season with the Bulldogs. Coach Miller is optimistic this year even after losing some big time seniors from the 2024 squad. The Bulldogs should bring plenty of youth and athleticism to the field this spring, but many new faces will be making their full-time varsity debuts. If University is able to make it to the postseason once again, they will have a couple of tranfers who are eligible for postseason play thanks to Damian Alvarez (2024 Future Games attendee) and Derek Casillas now attending the school. Viken, Korby, and Natividad each hit for over a .355 average in a large sample size last spring and should be impact bats for 2025. We also saw Viken and Natividad pick up 36.2 combined innings last year and should be in line to help carry the Bulldogs this season. Some important matchups on the schedule for University this spring are against; Eaton, Resurrection Christian, and Colorado Academy.
