On February 9th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Colorado Springs Preseason ID at The Farm Sports. This event featured ~35 prospects from the 2025-2028 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance. Today, we continue our post-event coverage with this 'Quick Hits' story.

QUICK HITS:

Easton Embrey RHP / OF / Palisade, CO / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 102 / POS: 30 Embrey comes in at 6'2'' and 179 Ibs with plenty of athletic tools. What really stood out from Embrey during this event was that his fastball got up to 90 mph with a max spin rate of 2,490 rpm. Embrey is able to use a whippy delivery to create plenty of leverage down the mound, and we also saw him showcase a strong curveball, changeup, and cutter mix to go with his four-seamer. The uncommitted RHP and outfielder also ran a 6.78 60 yard dash, posted a 99.2 mph top exit velocity, an 81 mph max bat speed, and an 88 mph outfield throwing velocity. In spring 2024 at the 4A/5A level, Embrey pitched 52 innings with 67 Ks, 40 walks, and 45 hits allowed. Embrey also hit for a .460 average with 5 doubles, 4 triples, 20 stolen bases, and a 1.182 OPS.

Cash Carpio SS / RHP / Rampart, CO / 2028 Cash Carpio is a freshman name to note as he posted some big time metrics during Sunday's event. The Rampart infielder and RHP stands at 5'10'' and 168 Ibs with some wiry/athletic levers that were able to generate a 101.5 mph top exit velocity. This number led the event, even as a freshman, and Cash was also able to get his fastball up to 82 mph on the mound with a quality curveball and slider. With these kind of tools as an underclassman, Cash has a chance to make an immediate impact for his HS program this spring.

Vince Carpio IV C / RHP / Rampart, CO / 2026 Vince Carpio also showcased quite well with the bat in this event thanks to his 97 mph top exit velocity with a 79.4 mph bat speed. The uncommitted Rampart catcher is controlled behind the plate with clean actions and a 74 mph throwing velocity. In spring 2024 at the 5A level, Carpio hit .379 with 3 doubles, 3 triples, a home run, and a 1.089 OPS across 89 plate appearances.

Ezra Christ 2B / RHP / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 65 / POS: 3 Ezra is another exciting underclassman who posted some quality metrics overall during Sunday's event. The Regis Jesuit infielder and RHP comes in at 5'10'' and 164 Ibs with plenty of feel on the diamond. We just saw Ezra post a 96.1 mph top exit velocity, a 78 mph top bat speed, an 84 mph infield throwing velocity, and a fastball up to 81 mph. Ezra also has some natural deception on the mound with a more unique slot and the ability to spin his curveball and slider in the low to mid 2,000s.

Brenden Hamel RHP / 3B / Rampart, CO / 2026 Another winner on the mound and at the plate was Rampart's Brenden Hamel. At 6'1'' and 203 Ibs, Hamel provides some natural strength and was able to get up to a 97 mph top exit velocity in this event. Hamel also has some two-way upside with his fastball over 80 mph and the ability to land his full arsenal for strikes.

Tyler Feldhake SS / 3B / Castle View, CO / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 42 / POS: 4 Feldhake is a young prospect to get to know from this event. The Castle View infielder is athletic and strong while already posting a 7.02 60 yard dash time and an exit velocity over 91 mph with a 74 mph bat speed. We can also tell you that Feldhake throws over 80 mph across the infield with plenty of defensive feel at shortstop. We anticipate Feldhake to build off of his numbers as the Super Sophomore Games alumni has a potentially big 2025 ahead of him.

Jaxon Ross OF / SS / Discovery Canyon, CO / 2026 Ross ran the fastest 60 time during this event at a 6.74. We also saw Ross generate a 94 mph top exit velocity to go with some twitchy athleticism out of his 6'2'' frame.

Tyler Johnson 1B / OF / Grand Junction, CO / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 83 / POS: 5 Johnson had a quality round of batting practice from the left-side in this event thanks to his top exit velocity at 96.4 mph with an 80.5 mph max bat speed. The Grand Junction sophomore generates plenty of leverage from a strong lower half and also has the ability to lift and drive the baseball with his 370 ft. max batted ball distance. Johnson comes with clean actions in both the outfield and at first-base to go with his 83 mph throwing velocity.

Dyson Sharpton OF / 2B / Palmer, CO / 2025 Sharpton is a 6-foot, 188 Ibs physical athlete who showcased quite well during this event. We saw Sharpton post a 91.3 mph top exit velocity, a 76 mph max bat speed, a 7.00 60 yard dash time, and an 84 mph outfield throwing velocity. In spring 2024, Sharpton hit .531 with 7 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs, 10 stolen bases, and a 1.708 OPS across 68 plate appearances at the 4A level. Sharpton is an uncommitted senior worth following and checking in on as we head into the 2025 season.

Bryson Williams 3B / 1B / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 75 / POS: 7 Regis Jesuit has no shortage of young talent, and Bryson Williams brought plenty of strength and size to the event. At 6'1'' and 196 Ibs as a sophomore, Williams produced a 96.3 mph top exit velocity with a 344 ft. max batted ball distance. The infielder has some easy pop with the ability to lift and drive the baseball.

Jake Cody OF / 1B / Discovery Canyon, CO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 102 / POS: 17 Cody posted a 94 mph top exit velocity, a 76 mph max bat speed, and a 7.16 60 yard dash time in this event. The 6-foot and 175 Ibs uncommitted junior has a projectable frame and some quick hands from the left-side of the plate. Cody had one of the more consistent rounds of the event thanks to his 90 mph average exit velocity and a max batted ball distance of 350 ft.
