Arapahoe Defeats Eaglecrest 6-2

LITTLETON - The Eaglecrest Raptors came into the game against the Arapahoe Warriors with an undefeated record at 9-0. Over the last few years the Raptors have started out strong only to hit a speed bump called the Centennial League. This year however they have different expectations, and came into this game 2-0 in league. Arapahoe however would get a very strong pitching performance from junior LHP Garrett DeClue to secure a 6-2 victory for the Warriors. 

The Raptors would strike early with the benefit of a run scoring single from Garrett Tisdall to take a 1-0 lead, but the Warriors would even the score in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single from Justin Kuhl

After a scoreless 2nd, the Raptors would take the lead again with an RBI single from senior Tyler Mills to take a 2-1 lead. The Warriors again would respond in the bottom half of the inning, but this time getting 4 runs highlighted by a 2-run triple from Kuhl, and then junior Preston Scheidt would hit a 2-run double making the score 6-2. 

DeClure would take it from there. Declure would pitch a complete game scattering 9 hits while striking out 7 Raptor batters. 

Next up for Eaglecrest is a home game against Grandview on 4-18-17. Arapahoe will travel to Cherry Creek on the same day. Eaglecrest falls to 9-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Centennial League. Arapahoe is now 7-5 on the season with a 2-1 Centennial League Record.
