Week 1 Player & Pitcher of the Week

Caleb Dameron
PBR Colorado Staff

Each week during the high school season, the PBR Colorado staff will announce our 'Players of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only one position player and one pitcher can take home this award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the CHSAA.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around our state. If you are a coach and interested in nominating a player, please contact Josh Reynolds ([email protected]).

Brett Rozman C / OF / Palisade, CO / 2023

Rozman took things over offensively for the Bulldogs during the opening week of Colorado baseball going 6 for 12, crushing three triples, a double, and producing four RBI over the team's three games. We also saw Rozman rack up four stolen bases while scoring four runs. This versatile catcher posted a 1.583 OPS across his first three games and only struckout one time in 12 plate appearances. The defense is also rock-solid for Rozman, given he didn't make a single error at catcher this week.

Max Stanley RHP / Douglas County, CO / 2023

Max Stanley didn't disappoint in his 2023 debut as he allowed zero hits, zero runs, and just two walks over five innings of work while striking out 10 batters. Stanley was very efficient in this one since he only needed 66 pitches over his five innings while leading his team to a 16-0 win over Arapahoe HS. The fastball on Stanley was ramped up to 93 mph at times with multiple sharp off-speed pitches.
