We began our post-event coverage earlier this week by take a look at the top statistical performers. Today, we continue our coverage with an early look at some initial takeaway from the Winter I.D.

QUICK HITS

+ 2020 Unsigned Seniors OF Gabe Atkins (Rock Canyon) and MIF Bryce Leafgren (Eaton) emerged as quality follows for this Spring.  They will find a collegiate home  Atkins showed arm strength, bat speed and overall athleticism, posting a stat line of 6.93 laser-timed 60, 90 mph exit velocity, and 83 mph from the OF. Demonstrated repeatable path with swing. Leafgren  was consistent in all measurements with room for growth.  Bryce demonstrated Middle of the field barrel control with power potential.  Balance and timing will create high average. Easy and smooth fielding at SS, but see him as solid 2B, possible 3B.

+ OF Nolan Johnson (University, 2021) recorded on of the best days of the event.  The leader of 2X State Champion University HS ran 6.69 laser-timed 60.  Lead off type hitter with good feel for the game.  The uncommitted JR's  athleticism and skill set just starting to shine.

+ 1B/3B JT Shank (Rock Canyon, 2023) is an athletic LHH that is a must follow

+ SS/2B Karl Peters (Heritage 2021) is one to put on radar.  The USAPrime product showed variety of skill sets with ability to hit for AVG.  Added strength in future will be plus.

Be sure to stay tuned over the next few weeks as we release reports on all players in attendance.
