The PBR Colorado Winter Prospect I.D. took place on Sunday, December 15th at The Edge Sports Center in Fort Collins, CO. Over 50 prospects from the 2020-2024 classes we in attendance.
We are continuing our event analysis. Here are the upperclass infielders from the event, listed alphabetically.

Seth Beals OF / RHP / Rocky Mountain, CO / 2021
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5’10” 185
Run: 7.24
Hit: RHH 50/50 Weight distribution in stance. Sway to rear side and minimal leg lift and slide to stride, slight coil. Stride remains open. Momentum driven front side. Hands/Arm angles maintained and minimal upper body coil. Aggressive rotation and linear movement to ball Exit Velo: 90 Path has upward lift and one handed finish. Demonstrated good barrel contact in event BP!
Power: Can benefit with refined swing development. Lots of Potential to develop
Arm: OF Velo: 84 Really good feel for quick Catch/Release
Defense: OF; Good footwork and momentum through ball. Good Actions to ball
INF: Really good overall skill set as OF/INF Versatile! Threw well from different arm angles and redirected footwork with momentum.

Elias Gonzalez 3B / SS / Eaglecrest, CO / 2020
Positional Profile: 3B/SS
Body: 5’9” 160Run: 7.74.
Hit: RHH Ready position stance is upright and slightly open., with a slide for stride foot. Shifts weight slightly to back side on load. Consistent lower half. Hands have minimal movement on load and start in good launch position. Path is a bit out and around and has pull side tendencies. Weight shift from front to back is rotational. Demonstrated consistent barrel contact. Balance on follow through with short to ball and short finish Exit Velo: 80 with hands
Power: Pull side tendency with potential for singles and doubles
Arm: OF: 75 INF: 77 Arm showed strength with a long back side and extended finish
Defense: Good Actions in OF with aggressive approach through ball. Good Footwork.
INF: Footwork was good to and through the ball. Positioned himself on variety of routine balls. Would benefit with movement through ball and momentum to throw

Wyatt Hough 3B / RHP / Legend , CO / 2021
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 5’11” 195 Run: 7.17
Hit: RHH Strong Build. Good Balanced stance, simple lower half load process. Launch 50/50 weight distribution. Hands load in sync with stride timing. Repeatable load Path is downward to lift. High finish. Generated great bat speed Exit Velo: 91 Aggressive and comfortable in box
Power: Definite power potential with development of swing
Arm: Inf Velo: 76 Showed high ¾ angle. Upper body strength
Defense: Got in good fielding position each time. Demonstrated accuracy with all arm angles. Good Actions at 3B, possible also at 1B. Will benefit with development long toss and flexibility. Very good Potential!

Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5’9” 160
Run: 7.24
Hit: RHH Very Simple and modified lower half load. 50/50 to slight shift, finds good rhythm and balance. Limited load with hands and has extension to slight arm bar. Bat head behind head slightly. Demonstrates strength and quickness in swing. Path has tendency to pull side Gap and around ball. Finish has retraction at contact and path have extension and lift. Good Results in BP round. Exit Velo: 74
Power: Potential for pull side pop with continued development of strength.
Arm: OF VELO 83 INF VELO 80 Great backside arc with throw and extended follow throw. Great throwing foundation each throw
Defense: Good approach through ball in OF...with ease of fielding ground ball. INF: Demonstrated advanced defensive actions. Footwork and quickness played through ball and with very good feel for ground balls. After catch, did a great job with momentum to throws and change of direction on double play. Really good potential defensively.

Positional Profile: MIF
Body: 6’0” 170
Run: 7.59
Hit: RHH Unsigned Senior. Good setup and stance. Minimal movements to load. Simple up/down stride and remains stacked on rear side. Hips slide slightly. Hands extended on load. Direct path to ball with aggressive Rear Side Acceleration. Had good barrel contact and demonstrated ability to get hands inside ball. Approach was Gap to Gap with some pull tendency. Exit Velo: 85 More development to come for him...quality unsigned Senior
Power: Demonstrated signs pull side lift. Potential!
Arm: Inf Velo: 74 Arm works well. Accuracy on all throws from SS
Defense: Fluid footwork for a long lean body. Worked in rhythm through ball. Great Hand/Eye. Gather and momentum will benefit with added agility and quickness . Can see as collegiate 3B/1B. Hitter who will find place on field.

Matthew Peterman C / RHP / Bishop Machebeuf, CO / 2021
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5’10” 150
Run: 8.04
Hit: RHH Wide Base with simplified load. Front stride foot up/down with slight torso coil. Gets stacked on the back side. Hips accelerate 1st. Arm angles are maintained on load to small arm bar. Very repeatable path. Barrel stays in zone for extended period and has upward lift. Finish is high. Middle of the field approach and had solid contact in BP round Exit VELO: 73
Power: Would benefit with rear side acceleration and use lower half to gain power.
Arm: Inf Velo: 68 Arm will benefit with addition of strength and quickness. Continued improvement with long toss program will help his development
Defense: Inf Deliberate actions to the ball and fielded within triangle. Upright throwing stance and positioning Created momentum to throws with transitions to throws.

Karl Peters 2B / SS / Heritage, CO / 2021
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5’8” 130
Run: 7.04
Hit: RHH Great Foundation for stance. Simplified load with minimal movement, but gets to rear side and is stacked at launch. Great rear side acceleration through ball and maintains good foundation with balance. Hands create path upward with high finish. Consistent and repeatable with slight pull side tendency. Had good showing with majority of balls “squared” up. Exit VELO 81
Power: Wants to lift, has ability with added strength to hit for power
Arm: Arm worked well from a variety of angles, demonstrated confidence. Quick catch to release and follow through. Arm VELO: 76
Defense: Great actions at SS. Moved to position feet and play through the ball. Attacked ball with hands and created gather to throw. Infield Defense will continue to a strength for Karl. Development possible at 3B/SS/2B.

Lucas Scott 3B / 1B / Skyline, CO / 2021
Positional Profile: 3B/1B
Body: 6’1” 200
Run: 8.54
Hit: LHH Upright open stance in stack position. Leg kick with weight transfer to launch. Tilted to front side. Hands high and arm angles maintained during loading. Direct path to ball with hands above the ball. “To it, through it” with good follow through. Approach is Middle of the field. Hands work well, will benefit with lower half use and balance. Intriguing hands!!
Power: Front side hitter with plus hands, can run in to one, but power potential dependent on Syncing lower half
Arm: Inf Velo: 68 Arm is easy with short arc. Accurate.
Defense: Good movements to ball and through ball, most movements with length. Suited more towards corner INF. Benefit with agility training.

Casey Thibault RHP / 3B / Fountain-Fort Carson , CO / 2021
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6’4” 215Run: 8.18
Hit: RHH Spread out stance with minimal movement back to load. Gets to stacked rear side position. Stride foot is up/down with some transfer forward. Arms extend with some arm bar, bat head levels. Hands do get in zone early, sometimes below ball. Long levered hitter with length to swing. Generates strength with good rear side acceleration. Exit Velo: 91. Would benefit with free flow on finish, has tendency to cut off finish
Power: He will run into some balls, will do it more as he refines and quickens swing
Arm: Inf Velo at SS: 79 Nice quick backside arc. Good extension. Cant help but consider him as RHP Plus Accuracy
Defense: Good athletic movements, Length to all Would consider options at 1B/3B
