John Cackowski
Director of Scouting

PBR Colorado strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Scouting Report

4-2-18

Uncommitted. Currently ranked 29th in Colorado's 2019 rankings. 6-foot-1, 200 pounds. Bats and throws right. Strong, athletic build. Balanced stance at the plate. Short stride. Swing is quick and short to the ball with bat speed. Led game off with solo homerun off second pitch to deep left center. In past events exit velo was 88 mph off a tee.  In the OF had good actions and threw from high 3/4 arm slot at 78 mph. On the mound comes right at you and attacks the strike zone.

1-29-17

6-foot-1, 200 pounds. Bats and throws right. Physical specimen and athlete who really fills out uniform well. Looks and plays like a linebacker. Has some moving parts at the plate with both hands and lower half. Big crouch. Ball jumps off when he gets a hold of it. Bat looks like a toothpick in his hands. Smaller leg kick then last time we saw him.  Had impressive measurables at event. Exit velo was 88 mph off the tee. In the OF had good actions and threw from high 3/4 arm slot at 78 mph. On the mound comes right at you and attacks the strike zone. Good leg drive towards the plate. Fastball was consistently 79 mph but looks faster. Change sat 64-65 with fade, and curve was 62 mph with 11/5 shape. Also ran a 4.2 home to first time. Player to follow.

6-8-16

A 6-foot-1, 190-pound right hand hitting catcher/OF who ran a 7.20 60.  At the plate he hits from a slightly open stance with a high leg kick for timing.  Swing plane is level through the zone with good extension out front.  89 MPH exit velocity produced several balls off the left center wall.  In the outfield he is athletic and moves well on balls in the gap.  He throws from an over the top motion and delivers an accurate 82 MPH ball to the bag.  Behind the plate he is quiet and frames pitches well.  He shows good actions on blocking the ball and quick feet to get in throwing position.  Pop-times were 2.06-2.08 and arm velocity was 79 MPH.

1.31.16

6-foot-0, 190-pound right hand hitting catcher/right hand pitcher who ran a showcase best 4.03 home to first.   At the plate he hits from an open stance with a slight leg kick to square up.  Hands are at the top for the zone and slightly wrap.  He hits off a firm front side and has quick hands that produce an 87 MPH exit velocity.  Behind the plate he is quiet and receives the ball well.  He stays low through the throw and delvers an accurate ball at 77 MPH and a 2.14 pop-time.  On the mound, he stays balanced and has a slight sink and drive to his motion.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and does a nice job of keeping the same arm speed on pitches.  He featured an 81 MPH fastball along with a 63 MPH curve and 64 MPH change.
